A few more lighting tests. Starting to look good! Also, a picture on how I did the engine lights.
Engine lights. Tamiya paint cap, 12 LEDs in total. It has 8 flickering blues and 4 steady whites in the center.
She's almost ready for paint!
Cool as pogees!
Engine test on the Galactica.
Thanks a lot guys. The plan is to have this done in time to make its debut at Wonderfest in Louisville KY on June 4th.
I have to pay more attention to the subsection. This is freaking awsome. We need to start a "fund me" campaign so you can travel to different shows around the country. I want to see this in person. gk
Ohhhhhhhh, those landing lights are going to look awesome!!!
Quick lighting test of the "runway" lights. The .25mm fibers will run to this LED sequincer board to provide the landing light effects. The unused LEDs will be painted black.
As soon as my LEDs show up I'll be able to move a little faster on this build.
Wow!
Quick lighting test. Looking good!
Thanks! Yes, there's 32 fibers (.25mm) just in the bridge itself.
Frack! That's a whole constellation of lights just on her bridge!
All the fiber work is done. 300+ windows. Both .5mm and .25mm fiber was used. Fibers are all bundled up and trimmed. Now to install the electronics!!
Bridge with .25mm fiber.
Mike's replacement launch tubes in place. Much better than stock.
It seems like it! I just did the bridge last night in .25mm fiber, 32 windows lit. More pics tonight.
Oh wow, she's gonna take miles of fiber optic cable to light!
Got some more work done on the Big Girl. Starting to run fibers in the head. Got the gap under the bridge squared away with Aves epoxy. More fibers to run and then even more fibers to run!!!
Drilled about 150 windows last night. Still need to dril about 200 more before I can start running fiber. Should have that done tonight.
This was taken at the local club meeting of the Kentucky Modelers group last Saturday.
Well hey, I'm sure this kit will be around for a little while. Start savin and before you know it......
Robi, that is a huge model! The add ons look great. I would love to get one but I just got the anigrand Star destroyer, so funds are depleted right now lol.

Thanks Gamera, it's been fun so far. Yes, lots and lots of kit pieces went into this. It's fun looking all the parts and seeing what was used is amazing.
Again wow that's awesome! Love how the close-ups show off how these models were built from parts (yes greeblies!) from commercially available kits.
More work done. Lots of greeblies added, still more to do. Taking this to a local meet this weekend here in KY, probably spend the day drilling windows and BSing...
Going to see how well this works on resin. I'll bring a few fresh batteries with me!
LOL Thanks!
I jump genres all the time!!
Whoa, I thought the Lotus was cool, by the Lords of Cobal this is going to be epic!!!
While waiting for paint to arrive from Japan, I thought it was high time to get this beast out and finish her up. I have all the 3D printed parts and resin upgrades that were made available for her now. After watching another build on a FB group I belong to, I decided to get her finished. Lots of detail parts have been added since I last worked on her, but the major mile stone was getting the temporary stand done so I could get her up off the desk.
More to come...
