Well, I finally got some painting done. Laid down the first color.

Masked that off and put down the next color.

Once again masked and painted the third color. Then removed all the masking and came out with this.

Up next I will attach the leds and put the hull together. I also need to do some detail and touch up painting. Although, the paint bleed kind of looks like chipping. I might be able to use that during weathering.

Nothing specific to point out, just want to say she's coming along great!

I have not check this in a while, wow, she does look really nice. Until i read you last comment, i thought that paint bleeding was chipping. I think it loks very effective.

Hi Bish, thanks for dropping back in. I am ok with some of the pain bleed, but there are some areas to touch up. Something to pass the time until your next Star Wars GB. Working on the led and stand right now so it gives me some time to think about weathering. I am kind of think of a ship middle to late Clone wars that has a few battles and planetary assaults under it's belt. With that in mind it leaves a lot of room for weathering effects.

Well, I got some work done, unfortunately the Acclamator came down with a bad case of the clamps.

At least it only lasted for 24 hours and then the clamps fell off.

I started some weathering with a brown wash.

Ookay, I guess, moving forward.This weekends work was to finish up the weathering. I wanted to show a little hastily repaired battle damage on this ship. So I painted some armored panels a fresh color while still keeping the scoring on the older panels.

Then just some weathering to try and give it a nice used look.

Then i sealed it all with Testor's clear flat to seal it in and low there sat before me a Completed Model!!!! What follows is completely made up.

And now the lights. This is my second try at LEDs and my first on a project this big.

I appreciate everyones help and critique along the way. Thanks for posting and for just taking a look. Now the desk has been cleaned and it is on to the next project.

Wow, she turned out great! Love the weathering and battle damage. 

I'll admit you did fill me with more than a little trepidation when you took this expensive chunk of resin and started drilling chunks out of it but the final results are spectacular! 

Gamera and Silentbob, thanks for coming along with me on this journey. I do appreciate your comments it is encouragement to press on. This kit from JPG was a pleasure to work on and yes it is a little intimidating to start cutting up an expensive kit. A lot of planning went on before the first cut though.

Hi Stephen! I created an account on FSM right after I saw your model! Such a beauty! One question I've been trying to figure out is how everyone makes the six quad turrets around the command structure? I'm about to purchase an acclamator kit myself! Just finished my  Venator!

 I had missed this ! I never thought you could get a flying bowl of rice noodles !

 Now you know how I felt after drilling out all the ports on the large Titanic Model for lighting ! Fun ain't it ( Being sarcastic here ) . You are doing one heck of a job though . I am going to check in from time to time to finish reading and seeing all this . T.B.

I absolutely love Star Wars and this build makes me want to build exclusively Star Wars models. lol. Not sure if you mentioned this and I missed it but what did you power the lights with and where did you store the power source?

Hi Jaykat, I got your pm but for some reason it would not let me reply. If you get JPG's  kit (which i think is the only one out there)it will come with the turrets. It is just a matter of cutting them from the pour stub and gluing  them in place. Post your Venator I would like to see it. I have one that I am going to start on soon.

TB, thanks for the comments. Yeah the drilling was not fun at all and I have 4 more Star Destroyers to work on. I think I need to find a small power drill somewhere or face the facts that I will have some really buff forearms soon!

Pinkbooger, thanks! I know what you mean, I try to build tanks and planes and cars (really have a good stash of each) but always end up putting those aside to build a Star Wars model. 

The power source is a 3 AA power pack that is housed in the box underneath.

Good find! The guy that makes them said he was not going to make any more. I think he only cast about 50 kits, so good thing you found one.
