Chris_in Japan and Griffworks,

I agree with Hippy-Ed.

It NEEDS to stop. Whatever it is, and whoever is stirring what really doesn't matter ... it needs to stop. This last volitile exchange was a rude and selfish inconvenience to your fellow forum members trying to participate in the group build discussion.

I find it interesting that you berate me for "disrupting the topic", yet it's perfectly acceptable for your friend to take cheap shots? It's alright for him to take the thread off-topic w/his previous side-bar stuff w/two folks above? Yet I'm the villain who needs to take it off the board after your friends pot shots... Right....

Exactly.

Sci-Fi was the exception.  With that said, if you all want, I can move the GB thread from the GB forum to the Sci-Fi forum.  If I don't make it back here, then shoot me a PM. Smile [:)]

Edit: I'm assuming this is the GB everyone is referring to (Star Trek federation tribute build).  All this talk about it and there wasn't a single link to it.

One thing that might be confusing for some is using the other forum. I know when FSM started the separate forum they allowed us sci fi builders to just keep them here minus the sticky. They always worked great and had lots of interest.

I had to cancel some of the builds I wanted to do after switching to working nights. Between work and other commitments there just aren't enough hours. However I still like swinging through and seeing whats new.

Unbelievable..

So you had 6 months longer to find the Group Build page then?

I think it bears pointing out since you've brought this up at least two other times in the past, that I not only didn't "follow you here" (that I get you inferring when you've addressed me simialrly in the past) just to rag on you, but have been here about six months prior to you discovering FSM and had lurked here for some months prior to registering.  I've just mostly lurked at FSM in the past and still go several days or weeks w/o popping in here.  Just because you have more posts than I doesn't mean anything, either.  And just so it's clear, I don't lurk here just because of you.  Wink [;)]

Griff it has absolutely nothing to do with having the last word.. I have been trying to make the point that because you have found your way over here, we are going to run into each other from time to time. And in saying that, I wanted to state that I simply wasnt going to hide from a thread because you were in it.. I also tried to atleast smoke the peace pipe with you and say that I would treat you like I would anyone else, because the crap between you and I isnt benefitial for either of us, nor does it help the health of the board, if people are turning away because of it..

Now I understand that my comment may have been construed as a smart arse comment, but again, I would have asked the exact same question of anyone that has been here as long as you have now, and not know his way around.. Again, maybe a thicker skin might be needed..

I know you like saying how you dont want to respond. And that is very mature of you. But the longer you have this big chip on your shoulder and you take the high moral ground, then the longer there is going to be tention between us.. All that says to me is, that I need to be carefull of what I say incase I offend or upset you. And in saying that. I am sorry, I am not going to walk around on cotton wool because you are here!..

Respond if you want. But dont claim that I am stiring the poo, or having a go at you, because I say something that you dont like, or feel uncomfortable with.. I simply dont know you personally, and in all honesty, at the end of the day you are like all of us here, and that is a User name on the screen.. Nothing more, nothing less.. And some of us user names get on better with others. But we still continue to participate!

Cheers, Chris

I'm not the one who creates the Drama or continues to push the issue.  You're gonna want to take a look in the mirror to see who keeps doing that.

Addendum: Regardless, I'm done with responding to you.  You always have to have the last word, so I'll give it to you.  Good luck.

Seriously, what is it with this drama dude?

I really dont know why I would have a need for you to say my name, or bring it up in a thread?.. I made a point of stating, that regardless of our past, I said that I will participate as normal, and address you as I would any other member. Wether you choose to reply or not, is something you have to decide. But again, just so you get it this time. Maybe you need to take a chill pill and leave the drama at the door..

Honestly, I dont expect you nor anyone to agree with everything I say, nor like everything I do, but that shouldn't stop people from being forthright and active on these boards.. Now by suggesting that I will treat you like everyone else, should suggest to you that I simply have no desire in continuing on with the childish to-and fro... Say maybe you should go back and read what I actually wrote, and try and post without trying to find a way of adding your little attempts at nerve hurting comments, and just move on!

Now, my initial post was as I started sarcastic, and it was no more so than if it where someone else. Again, you need to grow a thicker skin and relax a little!

You're reading in to what I said, I'm not upset.  Just callin' things like they are.  You know, being honest and all that. Wink [;)]

As to you being in threads I'm involved in, I don't have a problem with that at all.  Never so much as intimated it, nor brought up your name in one.  Not sure why you think I would, but you think too highly of yourself.

Now, can we get this back to the actual subject at hand...?

Are you alright Jeff?.. It was a simple question.. And you chose to get all upset.. I wasnt stiring the "so called" pot mate. Just curious as to why you wouldn't know about the group build section when it is clearly marked on the Forum index page.. I understand you are a sci-fi guy, but come on, if you found the Tools, Techniques and Reference material sections, then I cant see how you wouldnt know about a group build page..

Anyway, you answered the question and I can understand if you link to just one page..As for the question. I wasnt stiring any poo, just asking a simple question that I would have asked anybody who said what you did.. Was it a little sarcastic "sure".. But if you have allowed yourself to get upset by it, then maybe you need to stop being so touchy and realise that just because you and I dont get on, that I am not going to hide from a thread because you are in it!

Now I am sorry mate I am going to post as normal and treat you as I do everyone else so there is no need for the victim routine anymore.. I dont pick on you Griff. Its just that you say some funny things at times! And you get upset over the silliest things also.. Just relax a bit!

I'm not sure why you're wanting to stir up more Poo after claiming that *it* follows *you* around, but here you are, stirring the pot....

It's a pretty obvious answer, isn't it?  I'm a Sci-Fi fan and the forum is labled Sci-Fi, so when I originally came here 2 1/2 years ago, that was the first place I looked.  I've not looked at any of the other forums here other than Tools, Techniques and Reference Materials section here - and I've not checked that in some time, either.  Everything I've read there, I've read elsewhere on the 'Net, so haven't seen a need to poke back in there.  My primary interests lie with SciFi modeling, thus I only ever pop in this forum at FSM any more.

Griff.. Nobody said that the Group Build was a wash.. Just dead  (As in no interest,  no enthusiasm, and no structure.. Start-finish dates, banner ect...)

You made a point of stating that "Just because not everyone is responding w/in that thread doesnt mean that nobody's participating"

Well, with all due respect. Thats exactly what it means..

Having a message board where by no one reply's or responds. Is kinda like having a cd that has no songs on it. No point listening really is there?

Put simply, its no biggy. And with a little more effort, we may be able to get something going. And so why I was happy to say that it was dead, but I didnt write it off... The fact that a couple of us have gotten started simply doesnt warrant it as a "group" build just yet..  So until we get a "group", and not just a hand full of people, then nothing I have said has been anything but honest.  With what joey mentioned in my TOS thread. I dont think I will hold my breath on this one, but will support anything that gets off the ground!

Cheers, Chris

What, because not everyone has several hours every day to devote to the group build, it's a wash?  I don't see it that way.  You didn't give a firm completion date, right?  Just because not everyone is responding w/in that thread doesn't mean that nobody's participating.  Some of us just move at galacially slow paces.  :D

Also, this is my first Group Build here at FSM in my 2 1/2 years here.  I honestly had no clue about the etiquette of our posts being moved over to the other forum.

Okay, here is my first picture post for this GB. Not only is this my first SF build, I also decided that I want to add light to my Voyager. Two reasons: the hull of voyager is so much bigger then the aircraft is useally build, so I thought this would make is much more easy. Secondly, I found some very cheap (€ 0,50)  minature christmas lights at ikea, so I do not have to make an electric cicuit.

Because of the lighting I have coverd the inside of the hull with alumium foil. This will refelct the light and serve as a heat shield (it are minature light bulbs not LEDs).
