Boy I'd love to see that. That is one of my favorite Heinlein books, the other being Starship Troopers, was a bit of a dissapointment. I was really looking forward to seeing the combat suits. But the ships would make Great models!

Mostly what I'd like to see is the industry follow PL lead and make 1/1000 the main Star Trek scale.

According to a post on the SciFi channel's board some time ago, The Forever War is slated for production as a SciFi Channel production. If anyone here likes the book written by Joe Haldeman, I suggest sending the SciFi Channel an email to show support for this.

Being a Trekkie I love the ships, but I love figures more, but the large vinyl ones aren't diorama material, 54mm figs would be fantastic. there's only one I know of and I haven't found it. Anyone got any leads.

I think 1/35 scale starwars kits and figures would be cool, one downside some of the kits would take up so much shelf space and be pricey.

also the Predator ship from the second or third one, which ever one is in the city, plus some figures with it.

Its great to hear that at least one vehicle from a Mad Max film is getting some attention from a major manufacturer. Those three films were full of imaginatve vehicle designs that, had a major manufacturer approached them when the films were new, could have been quite lucrative as kit subjects.

I remember Babylon 5 fondly and would love to have seen more kits made of ships from the series, particularly the Vorlon planet killer ship.

I am looking very forward to Polar Light's NX-01 Enterprise and hope they will also consider kits of some of the Xindi ship variants that have appeared in the series' current story line.

A Babylon 5 Shadows "Battlecrab" capital ship resin kit just sold on ebay today. Final bid... $137.50. This is about twice what I could realistically spend on any given kit.

I sure wish someone was making kits like this for wider distribution. It would probably bring the price down some...

Some suliban cell ships in scale with the NX01 would be nice. Maybe a Vulcan Ship. I 'm thinking about trying to do a display of all the crafts in Enterprise's opening credits.

From what I've read about Fine Molds, their products are expensive because they choose products that THEY want to build for themselves. They sometimes choose not so popular, but very good subjects, and make masterpieces out of them!

One example is the mini subs that the Japanese used to sneak into Pearl Harbor in WWII. As far as I know, they're the only ones who took the topic. The details are fantastic, but the price is unbelievable!

What I appreciate with them is the fact that they are making the StarWars kits in accurate 1:72 scale. Now you can put them side by side with your fighter plane collection and compare! I started collecting 1:72 scale planes again because of this! Plus the fact that Hasegawa also came up with accurate 1:72 scale MACROSS/ROBOTECH models.

I'd really like to see the Millenium Falcon in accurate 1:72 scale. Hope Mr. Suzuki reads this forum!

This is a movie I'd LOVE to watch.. The book was great. I could never figure out why there were 2 versions though. One in which his mother dies and one in which she doesn't. Also other differences I won't go into here. I own a copy of both and enjoy reading them greatly.

I'm getting back into my Star Wars mood; just started my AT-ST. I've been thinking about all the SW ships that never made it to kit form. Finemolds could have a HUGE line eventually!

How about a landspeeder, twin pod cloud car, TIE bomber, all the new stuff from AOTC, Jabba's sail barge, a SANDCRAWLER (yeah!!!!). I would gladly go broke buying kits of all these beauties!!

Fine Molds I hear is working VERY close together with George Lucas and his team on the SW Kits, every detail has to be approved in the states, etc.
Because of this the release dates are not fixed and a kit will only be released once they got the final go-ahead.

We should have had the Interceptor out already, beautiful cockpit on the Tie fighter.

Fine Molds Kits are not your average run of the mill Kits, they are miniature masterpieces that are VERY accurate with tons of decals.
They are closer, IMHO , to garage-kits than your average plastic model.

Yep, they are pricey but the quality and detail you get should make up for that price tag, the landing gear on the Jedi fighter ... mmh lets see someone super-detail that one.

No comments on the Falcon.

I got the old amt Millenium falcon cutaway and looking at the figures that are included (Han, luke and Chewie) it is roughly 1/72nd. one kit i ould like to see done again is the eagle transporter from space 1999. Greg

Where's the love for Battletech?
Honestly! Battletech is only THE most influential mech universe of the modern era(Yep, even the mighty Gundam doesn't hold a candle to Battletech!)! Matter of fact, Battletech is the third-largest sci-fi franchise IN THE WORLD, second only to Star Trek and Star Wars(got that out of PC Gamer back in 2001, when FASA closed their doors and BTech was bought out by WizKids)!! So, why am I the first person here to bother mentioning it? Do y'all honestly expect me to believe that not a single one of you has ever played the RPG, or read the novels, or played the PC version, Mechwarrior?!

If you ask me, the only sci-fi kits that need to be made, that haven't been made already, are 1/144 scale Battletech models. At 5" tall, they'd scale right in with gundams, so no need for changing your shelf set-up, and you could use them both in your dioramas! Am I the only person here who's ever wanted a TimberWolf model? I hope not!!

As for someone becoming a Moses to the sci-fi genre...
Well, I have always had the dream of bringing 1/144 scale into the limelight it deserves, so maybe I could add sci-fi along to that dream? If so, just wait until TGSMC(short for "The Great Southern Model Company") opens its doors around 2015, and all your prayers will be answered...

Oh, we LOVE Battletech! Make no mistake about that!!!

I suppose Battletech plastic kits never really had their chance for several reasons. First, the multitude of white metal gaming miniatures kept most of the hardcore gamers happy. Second, sci-fi modelers were probably kept very busy with their Trek, SW, and Macross kits. I'd suggest that the Macross kits satisfied many 'mech cravings (but not all ) And third, while Horizon produced a few vinyl Battletech kits including the Mad Cat, they were too expensive, too hard to find, and VINYL, which is a big turn-off to many builders. A Horizon Mad Cat sold on ebay three days ago for $96.00. [:0][:0]

I'd love to see some injection molded styrene kits from Battletech but I'd only consider 1/72 or larger. To me, 1/35 would be perfect (nice and big!!) Even though I have purchased several 1/100 Macross kits, I still feel they are too small to be taken seriously. I LOVE the 1/72 Destroids but, again, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!

When it comes to Battletech I got the following Kits at home:

1/53 Horizon Mad-Cat
1/60 Armorcast Mad-Cat
1/60 Armorcast Vulture

Need to check the armorcast website again to see what they have added in the last year, I think they got an Atlas now too.

I personaly would like to see these ships made;
U.S.S.Lexington from Space above and beyond,also the hammerhead fighter with a chig fighter.

A British firm named Spacemam made resin (I think) kits of the Hammerhead and Chig fighters a few years ago. They're scarce, as far as I know, but they do exist. Would have been much better in styrene!

I agree memeau, "Space Above and Beyond". But what about "Wing Commander"? I think from the game more than the movie. How about more "W. C." movies?
