Last two pics I promise...and thanks for your comments guys and Phil ...I don't know on either count my friend :) -Tim
Your build is a true inspiration as well as a how to guide for any Nagato fan. The painted model against the unpainted PE set really shows us where and how to place the many parts of this set. I would like to thank you for your work and allowing us the opportunity to learn from your efforts. Thanks!
Absolutely stunning work.....Cheers Mark

Snuck that in right under our noses Tim. I can't imagine this not winning an award of some kind.

Thanks for the comments guys....small update (better pics to follow tomorrow)
Taken at CAMS show by a friend...I will post some pics of my own tomorrow. Thanks for viewing my post! -Tim
I swear there's more PE then plastic on this build.
Your work is minblowing. I love it.....Cheers Mark
Absolutely amazing work! You have me wondering though about the painting sequence. I assume the deck is finished yet there is a lot of PE detail on it that has not been painted. Could you tell us a little more about how these details are painted?
Thanks, Bill
Also a quick question to the ship enthusiasts here: those AA guns on top of the main turret, would those be used if the main turret guns were being fired? i would think that the concussion from the big guns would not allow that. just curious!

Firedeck Don't have anything major to show this week,
Don't have anything major to show this week,
I hope that is a joke right?Everything you do looks MAAAYOR to me!I can barely put some PE on an fighter airplane!Really, magnificent build!I have a question though, I wonder what is the best way to put railings on a boat, would you like to show me sometime? With regards, Ninetalis.
Wow! and more Wow!
Did the anchor chain come with the kit? If not what did you use for the chain (size etc). I really love this build!
Gene
Hi Eric! Don't have anything major to show this week, have been working on the rear deck, which looks alot like the foredeck... so I stuck the major subassemblies together for a couple of update pics like you asked for. The subassemblies are just laying in place, not glued or fully fitted, but I wanted to get an idea of how much work I had left - 3 decks of railings, 3 planes, 6 utility boats, two major cranes...there's still a ways to go I guess. But heres a couple of pics of the peices (sort of) in place ;) Thanks for your interest! -Tim
Need updates PLEASE!
Wow, that's a ton of detail. Although I noticed a typo, you seem to have included an extra 0 when giving us the scale of the ship.
That's a lot of photo etch also, it should paint up just like the real thing with a little attention to detail. Nice work.
Absolutely fantastic work! I continue to be amazed at how clean your PE work it. I can't see even a smidge of glue. How on earth do you do it? What do you use to attach your PE? White glue, CA?
Bob
Just launched: Revell 1/249 U.S.S. Buckley w/ after market PE and guns.
Building: Italieri 1/35 P.T. 596 w/ Lion Roar PE.
You make it all look so easy. How long did it take you to build that section?
Ditto. The work I am seeing here is stunning.....Cheers mark
D*#n! I get blown away every time I check in! How do you find the time?
Bill
Hi guys and thanks for viewing my post. I have the rear bridge superstructure done, it contains a major antenna array that was challenging...I had to build most of it upside down, as can be seen in the first picture. Your comments and suggestions are most welcome! -Tim
Here is the rest of the rear-bridge nearly completed:
Man,this just gets better and better!
Geez, this is fricking awesome stuff Tim. It deserves much more recognition.
have the main searchlight decks and high-angle gun controllers done this week. Please pardon the 8 pics, but due to size and placement difficulties of the pe and most of the railings, this was a most challenging section. I hope you like my searchlights! Cheers!
