Hi guys and gals,
Well, first up I would like to say thanks for taking the time to look at my build, and thanks for all the helpful tips I have gained from you, much appreciated
Back in 2010 I purchased my Tamiya 1/350 Bismarck, and as of yesterday I can finally say I have finished! It was built off and on during this period, due to other commitments and the need to take a break from the ship and change it up with another smaller model here and there. This is my first real ship model I have ever built and I must say, I definitely did not expect it to be as big a project as it turned out to be. To all you ship builders, I take my hat off to you!
I initially was going to build it out of box but soon realized that the Tamiya kit was lacking in detail a fair bit, (something I should have maybe looked into before buying) so I decided to add a few after market options here and there then suddenly I had a whole array of things to add to the ship!
Photo etch was used from Gold Medal Models and White Ensign Models. One thing is for sure, making some of those AA weapons was VERY fiddly and time consuming! I also found painting to be a challenge. I used both Tamiya and LifeColor paints.
If you have any critique, comments or question please don't hesitate to discuss
Well without any further delay, here is my Pride and Joy and the result of many many hours of model making.......My Battleship BISMARCK!
