Ray Marotta

That would look great displayed with Revell's 1/144 Fletcher...

Ray

Almost bought it at the last show I went. He had it for $90 and dropped the price to $75. I just was afraid of the BIG size and lack of display space.

Do you have a link to the future pe release? Just wonder what its included and the price. Nothing on the Eduard site.

I have only found it on Hannants. In the past I have noted that coming Eduard items are listed on here but they don't seem to pout them on their site. I have never been able to find their up coming MiG 15 kits on their site for example.

Hannants doesn't give any details, just the set number, 53106, 107 and 108. 106 doesn't have a price yet, 107 £16 and 108 £21. I am guessing they are not yet ready, and going of past eduard releases, this may well be delayed.

Ok Bish Thanks. It may not be necessary to add pe to this boat anyway but you never know. I recently picked up the 1/32 Revell of Germany He219 and the only pe I plan to add are the belts. The cockpit details are just gorgeous and screaming for some paint.

I know what you mean, but sometimes, I just can't help myself Wink

I plan on sending an E-Mail to Nautilus to ask if they are doing a wooden deck for the Type IX. And also to AMP. They do a couple of decals sets for the Type VII and might be worth asking if they are planning anything for the new one.

And that 219 is another on my shopping list. I have spent most of the year trying to decide if I should go for Revell or ZM and I have decided on the former. I think I will be adding at least one of those in the next couple of weeks.

CMK is putting together an interior set along the lines of the product it produced for the IIV C, and Brandon at Free Time says there is a deck and pressure hull on the way from them.  He also mentioned PE from Eduard and WEM.  I Emailed Nautilus, and as soon as they get a hands on kit to measure, they'll be putting out a deck, and also a VIIC/40 resin conversion kit.  I would guess Griffon might resurrect its basic weapons set from the VIIC for the 2 CM and 3.7 guns and tower upgrades. I would guess by springtime we should be showered with possibilities.

Good news from nautilus, I thought WEM might do something as well. I have their and the Eduard for the VIIc. I have not heard of Free Time, do they have a website.

Bish......... I got mine from Freetime, here's the link: www.freetimehobbies.com

thomcmdchief.........Thanks for the info. Will be interesting to see what they come out with. The pressure hull can be done from a  cardboard tube as I did on my 1/144 Type VII/C.

O, thanks PJ. I have heard others talk about a pressure hull, but the one I read about was not rated highly. That was the one thing I was concerned about when it came to opening up the vent holes. I know it wasn't this one as I read that a couple of years ago, and this seems pretty new. Nice price as well. I think I know have the final piece.

Cheers again.

Edit: I think it was the Yankee Modelworks one I had read about before.

You are welcome bud. I know exactly what you mean about opening up the flood holes. if you don't put anything in there it just looks hollow, even in 1/144. Like I said, I used a cardboard tube, sprayed it flat black and it look the part, and much cheaper too.Wink

I just found out that White Ensign does the pressure hull, so that a bonus. I need to get some bits for the S-100 I got the other week. I also found out they do the Nautilus decks, so added bonus. Saves me getting any more direct. It should work put a bit cheaper.

I wasn't sure how much you would see in there once its closed up. I had thought about painting the inside black, thinking this might work. But having the pressure hull will be a lot better.

Ok, cancel my last. It cost me £8 more to get it in the UK then to order from across the pond.

Bloody typical.

Just had a look at that set, looks like they are including things other people did for the Type VII. 3 PE sets is a lot of metal.

I just picked up a 1/72 VII C , the 2 Trumpeter 1/144 Gato kits, one with the USS Gunard tower conversion kit both with full metal etchings kits.  And I don't know what to do with them...I'm not a sub builder.

Love them...but ain't gonna build em.

Any suggestions mates?

Why did you "pick them up" if not building?? Are you looking to sell?

I got them (along with about 40 other models) from a renter who was just throwing them away.  I saved them because I build models and if I can pass them along(For cheep) to another who can appreciate them...then that is what I want to do.   We can't cell items on these pages...but I can let folks know about them.  I also have 3 1/350 Trumpeter WW2 carriers, Essex, Yorktown, Franklin.  Lots of armor too.

Love them all..but I build sailing ships.

Jeeze looks like I'm going to add another U-boat to the collection, already have 3 of the 1/72 VC-IIC's and one Accurate Armor 1/35th boat and quay set which I call my retirement project. But as a kid in Chicago I toured the 505 a number of times hence the urge to get this one too.

Well I own this kit now, its sitting next to my Revell AG/Germany 1/72 U-Boat Type VIIC U552 which I hope to start soon.

My question is "where do I find:

Revell AG/Germany 1/72 U-Boat Type VIIC/41 Atlantic Version

I find references and build with photos all over the web but none to buy?

Seriously, has somone been smoking funny stuff over xmas.

I don't think /41 kit has been re released, so i think e-bay is your only option, unless an LHS happens to have one sitting around.

I opened the link too and couldn't believe that price, did they legalized pot in Daleville Alabama too because he's smoking some good stuff if he thinks someone is going to pay that price. I got a C-41 version a few yrs back at a Hobbytown for around $48 along with my second VC-II for my stash. Think the owner was trying to get rid of some plastic because I got some good buys there. Sorry I don't have a second C-41 or I would have let it go and for a lot less than that fool on Ebay.
