Thank you Steve, this has been a very enjoyable thus far mainly because I've never built/know much about a Galley. I finally have the railings completed and working on the Davits. Thanks for looking.

The starboard davit and rails are completed along with the furling of the fore sail, fore yard lifts, working on the parrels and shrouds.

Thanks Steve. The rigging for the fore sail is just about completed, I finished up the sheet lines and marnets, i know these lines would be removed once the sail is furled, but I like the added detail.

The rigging continues, I realized I needed martnets on both sides of the sails which required replacing the single blocks at the mast heads with double blocks and just about have those completed, also with the lack of ratlines how would one scale the mast to the crows nest?, so I added a rope ladder whch seems like an acceptable option. I've made 100 blocks thus far with the rigging about 95% complete. Currently working on transferring the paper graphics, flags, canopy etc to cloth.

I'm using some of the Heller plans when appropriate, the model in the maritime museum in Paris, various other models around the same time period etc, pictures and other literature provided to me, needless to say they all vary to some extent.

With the rigging just about completed I decided to take a break and try transferring the kit supplied paper graphics to fabric and started with the canopy, after a few test runs to get the shade of dark red I wanted, with the exception of the fringe and tassels this part is done.

Not leaving well enough alone I decided to paint the designs and Fleur De Lis gold on the canopy and completed adding the fringe....looks acceptable.

A small update regarding the ramp leading to the canopy structure, I felt it needed a support beam as the supplied piece looked too flimsy, the picture illustrates the modifications done, I also finished up rigging the Vangs on the main yard. Up next will be the sheet lines.

I started work on the Caiq with a few mods done to it and still a WIP, but happy with it so far.

The Caiq is completed and the final result looks fine, onto the Anchors.

I started rigging the anchors according to Landstrom, starboard side completed. I used 1.0mm line for the anchor and .80mm line for the fish hook.

With the anchors completed I started back to work on transferring the flags graphics to cloth, specifically the ones along the railings as there's quite a few. This is still a WIP pic.

I had to backup a bit and redo the postion of the anchors as the light weight davit would've never supported their weight. I started working on the oars and the picture shows the modifications made.

There are few, if any models I wish I owned more than this one - stunning build.

I put the finishing touches on her last night after 3 years and will add this model is every bit as challenging as Victory. To everyone who stopped by for a look and shared info/comments, a big thank you!. I really enjoyed this build and I think it turned out to be a decent representation of the La Reale De France!

Thank you gentlemen, TB no worries there's a lot to follow on this site. Next on the chopping block is the Airfix Vasa, this one will be a bit unsual as I will build her as she appears in the museum except fully masted and rigged, no paint, guns etc as if they found the complete ship...we'll see how that goes

Michael D.  this is absolutely stunning work!  Your attention to the little and fine details is incredible.  I'd say that if you put this down on any contest table you'd win "Hands Down" but I can't imagine how you would ever transport this model to a contest.
