Hmmm;
Nice job. Did you use a thimble to protect your finger?
got the lower starboard side ratlines on .
Thankyou my friend , comments like that make a blokes day .
as a matter of interest , what sort of models are you into , lee .
What the actual frikkity frick!!!!!I mean....I make pretty good models...but THAT thing...is AWESOMEWhat blows me away is the utter MYRIAD of techniques needed to create your masterpiece...and the technical terms your'e using....I have to look them up!What an amazing depth of knowledge needed to understand the complexity of an actual fighting sailing ship!!I'm EXTREMELY impressed - especially seeing the hull before, and then AFTER you'd painted it! Outstanding!Well done, mate....thanks for the pics!!!
Cheers, LeeTree Remember, Safety Fast!!!
the main sail is on , I haven't tied down the clue lines yet , as they would be in the way of the ratlines .
your making me blush TB , your words mean a lot to me mate . and I'm sure your son isn't that bad , but thank him also for the kudos .
this is where I really miss the prof. because I have added extra decks , I have had to move a lot of things around , he would have really helped me , where to belay things to .
Hey!
I Disagree! What you are doing has even left that Mouthy Son of mine speechless! My boy speechless, WOW!! You have certainly helped a lot of folks who wonder what is that supposed to look like. That's the first step in a Sailing Ship Model, Sails or no sails!
Proff. Tilley would offer soft criticism coupled with a complete explanation of what's going on here. Your photos are more than clear enough even for the most "Neo" of SailShip Neophytes out there.
You have done it with pictures and words. Kudos to you!! And thanks for creating a moment of silence or two for me!
"I believe Proffessor Tilley would be all over this in a Positive way."Well said!
thats incredibly nice of you TB , not that i'm in anyway in the great mans class , but he did teach me a lot .
Well!
I do have to say this. I believe Proffessor Tilley would be all over this in a Positive way. Yessir, I think he would be very impressed! Somehow I think some of him might've rubbed off on you! I think He is watchin ya!
finally got some more work done .
all the stays and preventer stays are on .
managed to get some more work done . the main fore sail , is in place , all associated lines are held down .
I did try that bob , but it just swung around too much , I forgot to mention that I also had the sail on back to front .
Don't feel bad. I did the same thing, but with individually tied robands.
Next time, just redo the blocks, not the whole sail!

I finally got the fore main sail on , couldn't believe what I did . the top pic shows it well , on the yard to the right of centre are the 2 clue blocks , they are on the other side of the sail on the left , had to take the whole *&^&^ thing of and redo it . anyway the yard is on loosely , still tinkering with it .
thankyou lurch , that's nice of you to say so .
WOW That is coming along perfectly. You are doing an amazing job. You are truly gifted at doing this.
