Along with the wishes for all the fighting ships, how about some releases of the amphibious assult ships like the USS Essex, Tarawa, Iwo Jima just to name a few. Also what about some of the modern support ship and transports. I think these would look great when set along side the fighting ships plus give a good contrast in size. (Just my humble opinion)

The Correct Answer Is ALL of the Above!
And if we can't get that:
Royal Navy - HMS Hood, Warspite
German Navy - Prinz Eugen, Scharnhorst/Gneisenau
USN - Alaska, Baltimore, N. Carolina
IJN - Takao, Nagato
Regia Marina - Vittorio Venetto
French Navy - Richelieu

Hello, I'm checkin' in late.

I'd agree with you guys who said Nelson and Rodney. Rodney... now that's the name to see in 1/350. Oi say! ;)

For Japanese... IJN Fuso and Yamashiro.

The Kirov missile cruiser too.

Chino F.

Edit: Apr 4, 2004

Now I've noticed I'm lacking cruisers and WW1 in this scale, so I'll add these:

Baltimore Class cruiser
Takao class cruiser
Myoko class cruiser
Iron Duke
Warspite (WW1 and WW2 versions)
Invincible
Dreadnought (what else?)

IJN "pagoda" style BB's (Fuso etc.), USN "cage mast" BB's (how about an early Arizona?) in 1/350 plastic and a 1/200 USN "four stack" DD in plastic, plus of course the PE to go with it. Oh yeah, a 1/350 plastic Omaha class CL. Carriers? Nah (yeah I know, I know.... I've got to build a Saratoga of the 70's, I was on it) That's my wish list.

How can one have a battleship collection without Dreadnought herself. After that, Hood, Ark Royal, Invincible (modern).
USN: Langley, Nimitz, Montana, No. Carolina, Sumner class DD.
IJN Fubuki DD, One of those pagoda battleships.
DKM Prinze Eugen, Graf Zeppelin, Scharnhorst.
USSR Kiev, Kirov.
Of Course, PE to go around.
Is that asking too much?

Please a HOOD.
Please, Please, a Carrier/Cruiser MOGAMI.
But most of all, an ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE.

I would like to see more British themed models in particular the battle cruiser Hood, the WWI battleship Agincourt. In addition to these, modern warships like Types 23 and 42 class destroyers and a modern Invincible class carrier. A model of the cruiser HMS Tiger would be cool too, as she appaered in the late 1970's as a helicopter cruiser, and also British carriers like Hermes and the Ark Royal of the 1960's and 1970's. The Trafalgar and Conquorer along British missile subs would be good themes too. Also US destroyers and cruisers built during the 1950s-1970s(Long Beach, Leahy, Forrest Sherman, McCloy, Pharris, etc.) Finally Soviet ships like Moscow, Kiev and Kirov.

I second the votes for the Russian subjects. The designs and shapes of the Soviet navy were just cool as heck to look at.

I really would love to see and love to have any Australian ships from WWII - most are ex-british class ships but HMAS Canberra Heavey Cruiser & HMAS Sydney may be good for starters. Also any IJN carrieris and some USN LHD's just to add next to my growing aircraft carrier fleet.

HMCS Haida Tribal Class destroyer - "Hard Over" Harry Dewolf's WW11Bay of Biscay version with mods for the Korean War version.
Castle class Frigate
While not warships as such WW11 Merchantmen such as the Forts, Parks, Empires, Libertys and Tankers - we could have a convoy.
I don't do many ships so don't really know what is out there.

You have never been lost until you've been lost at Mach 3!

I think the biggest wanted ship would be HMS Hood - the sell-out of the White Ensign resin kit proved how popular it might be. Other than that, how about some famous fighting British ships such as HMS Ark Royal (WW II), HMS Warspite, HMS Renown or HMS Illustrious?

Just finished Tamiya's beautiful 350 scale Bismarck to go with my Tamiya USS New Jersey BB62 (actually, I wanted the WW II version so I ordered the Missouri but used NJ decals!...Being a veteran of the Pacific Theatre (I'm 77, was with 25th Infantry Division and the New Jersey supported us at Lingayen Gulf on Luzon, PI) I wonder if anyone remembers when the German battleships were called "pocket" battleships because they had to be built under restrictions set back in the disarmament days of the 1920s??

How about the U.S.S. Little Rock/Springfileld/Topeka /Oklahoma City class of guided missle cruisers? These modified Clevelnd class ships seved into the mid 1970's and were the last true "cruisers" in the U.S Navy.

Oh my! There are so many to choose from! I'll try to restrict to one for each ship type in each navy. Let's see...

Royal Navy - Illustrious(WW2), Ark Royal (yes, the one that had been "sunk" many times over.), Rodney, Repulse, Belfast, Dido, Tribal, O Class

Kriegsmarine - Prinz Eugen, Scharnhorst/Gneisenau. I've got a 1/400 Graf Spee by Trumpeter so I'm quite contented.

USN - Midway in her original configuration, Tarawa, South Dakota, Tennessee(late WW2), Yes, Any US battleship with cage mast will be a great idea, Atlanta, Alaska, Ward, Cassin, Any LSTs

IJN - Akigi(Time for an updated version of her), Kaga, Nagato, Ise(Hybrid version), Takao, Yahagi, Tone, Mutsuki (one of those early destroyers)

Soviet Navy - Admiral Kuzetsnov, Kiev, Kirov, One of those gigantic hovercraft.

Finally, I've develop a facination of late for the Pre-dreadnoughts & ironclads. I know maybe it's not be very commecially viable to produce many of them. Perhaps the more famous ones will be sellable like the Mikasa, Pomtemkhin/Retvizan, or one of those Czarist funnies like Adm Nakhimov, Oregon, Maine, a Bouvet or Hoche, TingYuen(of the Battle of Yellow Sea fame, ZhengDeFu had produce on in 1/300 scale almost 10 years ago, but it absolutely dismaying. Maybe Trumpeter can think of a new kit that will do some justice to her, at least tons of mainland Chinese will buy, if they are worried about the market.) Or perhaps they can produce them in 1/200 scale, they are small enough to not take up that much space even at this scale. I dun remember any one release any kits in this scale since Nichimo...oh my, I'm getting delirious... argggghhhhhh!.... Hello! Anybody out there hear us?? If you are in favour of this idea, write in to support, I'll be most grateful.

hi

at the risk of a large laugh all round a lot of your wish lists are avaiable in card models which are dirt cheap. Reading how much plastic chopping and rehashing you all seem good at, they are dirt cheap and would probably be a basis for converting to plastic sheet'

a 1/200 Roma costs about 23.00 euros.

just a thought
