Umi ... tie on that hajimake and go for it! I was going to drag along with my Gearing, the Forrest Royal, indefinitely, but this GB gives me the impetus to git 'er done.

Jeff,
Did you get the badge Okay?

Umi, I changed the name to Akikaze...

As for parts, nah, I have the ability to cast (pressure pot and all), but I was looking for a quick way out on this Takao. I'll probably get fittings from Konishi and cast what I need for the project.

Thanks!

Umi...question for you...aside from Konishi, you have a source for 1/192 or 1/200 IJN fittings??

Jeff

Oh no, does this mean I am committed to pushing this boat to the finish?Sleepy [|)]
Oh, and I named the boat Akikaze, "Autumn Wind". I liked the idea that it was the "wind of change".

Jeff,
I do not have a good source for those scale parts. Do you have some originals you want to cast? If you are not up to making molds, or parts, I would be glad to make you a mold, and or cast parts for you for the cost of materials, postage and all that.Wink [;)]

Here is the camo scheme I want to do on my Z-37. I'll also mount it on a base surrounded by 'water'.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

I'd like to see that PRC tincan when it's done. I've almost bought it a couple times but wasn't sure of the kit quality and they are always shrinkwrapped. There are also some interesting offshore Russian pre-dreadnaughts that often catch my eye, but I'm a sucker for a nice box and these look pretty primitive.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Umi, I too really should not take on another "project". Especially when the Dragon Randolph comes out. Thanks Jeff for allowing the frigate United States. I guees I could just make it the Constititution since it is the same kitLaugh [(-D] and she was in commission during WW2.

I have a 1/72nd scale hull and superstructure scratched up for a Minekaze class DD.
Among all the other projects I have, I would consider finishing it up for a group build.

Well technically Scott, it IS a frigate, although not in the WW2 definition of the term. I don't have a problem with it. It is a frigate after all...and besides, that opens this up to saling ships too.

OK MBT, do the badge...but I warn you in advance....(muwhahahaha) I wrote a book on DDs, so it better be good!! Wink [;)]

I will be finishing up a late war square bridge Fletcher, USS Cushing DD-797, that I started about 2 years ago. Managed to get the deck attached to the hull, and that's where I stopped.

I'm scheduled to do a Gearing class late next year. I guess maybe I could bump it up a few months and try to build it with my other two builds, um, make that three builds.

You say frigate? Would the USS United States count?Whistling [:-^]

I'm working a Gearing, USS Forrest Royal - DD872, and an Arleigh Burke that may be the Winston Curchill if I don't have to modify too much. Oh ... and I just won a Heller French Corvette on eBay. Can I do the badge, too? Please, please please?
