I wouldn't mind sending you a copy, Don.  Welcome, by the way.  It is one of the Kalmbach books, but it isn't in print.(Neither is their Star Trek one I wanted for XMas.)  If it comes back in print it would be worth having a copy for your shelf.

Would it be possible to obtain a copy of the pdf also? New guy here mostly just lurk until today. I have several vintage model boats I have been unsure of my skills to start. Perhaps if I read though this book it would increase my confidence. I would sure hate to mess up one of these older kits.

Thanks,

Don

I'll scan it tonight and send it as a PDF tomm.  I bought that book not quite ten years ago when I came back to the hobby after a couple years off. It was part of my Easter that year.  It was a real investmest. I haven't built a ship since but the technique is good for other things.  It, Paine's Dioramas, How to Build Realistic Military Figures are my favorites.

If they don't reply quick enough, I think I have that book.  Blue cover? Article on the President? I could scan it for you.

How to build Plastic Ship Models Booklet - UPDATE
Posted by Big Jake on Sunday, April 30, 2006 10:38 PM

Hi Folks,

Before Hurricane Katrina wiped out all my stuff, I loaned to another FSM BB member my original copy of Les Wilkins, "How to Build Plastic Ship Models".  I don't remember who it was, but can they contact me.  I'm about to start the Heller Chebec, and Mr. Wilkins had some good color photo's in it.  The modeler who I loaned it to was supposed to copy and send back, but the hurricane hit before they mailed it back to me.  I was wondering if I could get it back.

My new address is

29354 Lyon Ln., LaCombe, LA.  70445

Thanks

Jake Groby
