RG 1/72 Atlantic Sub WIP

Ok i know iam mostly A/C guy but i tend to build just about anything, after building the first RG sub i told myself if they came out with more id build them so heres the my second U-Boat. I started by drilling out the holes on the side of the hull then cut out the excess eith an xacto and used a small file to clean them up, i would have liked to do them all but was affrad that i would weakin the hull and some of them are really small and would be a tight fit for a file also iam not useing any AM parts on this due to budget. This thing might come out looking like a Fw190 due to all i have are RLM colors mostly. So here is what i have done so far.

Here the hull painted and comoed, i think iam gona spray some lightin up some of the panels to show paint were on the hull with a lighter color.

Subs painted and i did some chack dust shading before i futured it, just got done applying the decal to the coning tower ive already thined some rust with mineral spirites and thats what i'll use for the hull weathering. Its hard to find good pics of the weathering of a sub so iam wingin it.

Actually, I just watched U-571 again this evening & I was thinkin' about your sub when they were
surfacing. All that water coming off the sail & pouring out all them holes. Man, there was alot of rust
streaks!! Shock [:O]

I think you oughtta run a google search for U-571 and check it out. You've got the right idea going Approve [^]

Well i put another flat coat on it and all i have to say is happy happy joy joy Big Smile [:D]

it turned out awsome just perfect. Now all i have to do is make the other side look just as good. Iam so impressed i might just take this to the model contest to.

thats a pretty coo looking floating target your building there Dead [xx(] I watched your 262 and P-38 build, and this one looks as good as those. I dont usually build floating targets either, but have one in the works also, these things are kinda confusing. At any rate, yours is coming along nicely
