Ahh, great tip!

I also liked whoever (possibly somewhere else) recommended mixing paint already in the paint reservoir using an eyedropper, proving infinitely better than my previous method of stirring with a bit of sprue!

I love all these little tips, I'm in that sweet spot of the learning curve in my hobby, always learning...

Hi Martin,

Well I tried the cloth but couldn't get a decent seal...

Yeah, have already watched the DVD that came with the Evolution, and was surprised there was no backflush process mentioned.  Will sometime try and follow his 'my first airbrush paintings', doesn't look too hard to create something quite attractive.

What about a bit of heatshrink tubing about the same size as the conical forward part of the body & closed at the other end?

Heatshrink tubing is also handy for masking circular stuff like weapons!

Hi Jinja, I either use a damp paper towel or i use a small piece of rubber tubing that fits perfectly around the crown, you can find various sizes in plumbing department.

Also, just curious why you chose evolution over infinity? does anyone out here has both and share their thoughts about both in performance perspective, as i already knew one has quick paint flow adjust button and trigger tension control. i like to know the performance but not the design, i am trying to decide which one to get.

thanks

There is no performance difference as such, the differences are all about features & cosmetics. The two brushes use the same core components, the only real difference being;

"fineline" air caps for the fitment of push on caps,

"Quick fix" memory paint volume control (as opposed to plain adjustable on the silverline),

Hollow rear body,

Adjustable trigger stroke (paint / back).

The only thing that would make the Infinity "feel" different is the adjustable trigger, so if you don't feel you require this, the extras or the cosmetics the Evolution Silverline is a far better deal.

thanks Milairjunkie for the info, i have the same thoughts too. now i need to call them to see if they have a 2 prong crown for the silverline, because i mostly spray acrylics and that makes clearing off the tip so much easier.

The only brush that comes with the 2 prong crown cap as standard is the Infinity, although they can be fitted to any evolution. What you would require would be a "Fineline" air cap for whatever needle size you have (0.15/0.2mm, 0.4mm or 0.6mm) & the pronged cap. They retail at about $26 (assuming you are in the US?).
