The wife was thrilled to get one for her birthday and on top of that she said I could borrow it until she found an use for it,imagine that. I sure LOVE that woman.Heart

Tony,

I don't know why. But somehow I have this feeling that you may get an authentic Louis Vuitton purse as Birthday gift next time and your wife will be borrowing it. Wink

I am wondering what makes this airbrush so sought after? What is the performance like? How well does it work?  Please let me know as I am interested with all the positive talk.

You said in another post that you had bought one and was not happy with it.

What gives? Confused

I did have one, it was a prototype from mid tenn hobies and it wasn't easy to control. I had it to test only for a couple of days and wasn't knocked out.

I was thinking that with all the rave reviews that either I was not using it as well as I could or the prototype was not as good as the finished thing.

In what way was your prototype Krome not easy to control?

I found the Badger Krome trigger action to be quite linear and comparable to the Iwata HP-CS and H&S Evolution. It offers sufficient control for modeling tasks.

The Badger Patriot trigger is very different. You barely pull back the trigger and the paint comes out like a floodgate. I understand most other Badger with short taper, double cone tip needle behave similarly. Personally, I like the gentle, linear control of the Renegade series which offers easier control. But there are other modelers who perfer the quick draw type trigger control.

I am going to have to get motivated and test the Krome out and post it here. It is the smoothest airbrush I have yet used.

For those who are still looking to buy the Krome I received an email from Mid Tenn yesterday notifying me they are now back in stock.

I have ordered a Krome fron Ian at AK interactive usa He has them and is a very nice and helpful guy. I appreiate the positive comments that helped me decide to break fro Iwata and try it.

HI!

Recieved the Krome and in limited use this airbrush is all that you claim it to be! Great feel, beautiful spray, nice control. Better than my HP-CS for fine detail!

I just got mine a couple days ago and yes... it is that good.I own 6 other airbrushes..and have tried  more than than that.

something that some people may not notice with model use, is how it sprays in a master airbrush artists hand.

the guys you see in the airbrush magazines.that do it for a living.. when they find it to be an awesome airbrush ... you can probably count on it to do any model painting job quite well .( that can be said for other brands as well)

I took mine apart and checked it out than lubed it  before playing around ,, it's silky smooth and very easy to dial in.

for those that say something was wrong or it didn't perform right ... you do realize that badger will fix or replace it no matter what   for the life of the airbrush....right?

I love it when people say a Badger airbrush is better than a similar priced Iwata. Big Smile

I am proud to be a user of a great American made airbrush that has a history far longer than the knock-offs from the land of the rising sun.
