Unfortunately we don't all have a local hobby shop nearby. My closest is 70 plus miles away like GM, but that does lend itself to staying well stocked on supplies. If I have a bottle of paint get below half full I am usually ordering another. That's what I was doing when I saw the shortage notice.

Ill bet that has more to do with Internet Hobbies not complying with Tamiya’s pricing policies, than with any general product shortage. Tamiya specifically said last year that they would cut off providing products to any business that did not follow their pricing rules.

There are plenty of other online hobby retailers out there.

I was in our local shop today and their Tamiya rack was pretty bare. The clerk said there was a Tamiya paint shortage due to it not making it into the country. Before I could get anything else out of him, he had to go help another customer.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you guys are doing great. This is my first time on this forum. Hello from Toronto Canada.

I have a question about Tamiya paints. The thing is, i hardly use these paints but i do not want them drying out!!!!

WOULD it be a good idea to put in 10-15 drops of x20A (tamiya thinner acrylic) to ensure longer hydration / increase its lifespan?

Please let me know, my local hobbyshops don't have a clue about this.

I want to extend the life of my paints outside of just ensuring the lids are clean and there no clogging.

I guess what I am trying to get at is, is there ANY drawback in adding extra tamiya thinner to my tamiya jars just for that extra hydration / peace of mind
