The .3 in my HP-C with the proper paint thinning does great for 98% of my paint jobs. The only thing I had problems was with a metallic paint with larger metal particles. I always had problems shooting the 'school boy' model paints, the Testors square bottle Gold and Copper. Those paints would just clog and bunch up at the tip. When I forced the goop out the HP-C tip it was like flinging a spit wad...pooey...splat. So when it comes to using Testors Gold or Silver, for sure, I use an AB with a bigger nozzle like Iwata Revolution or my T&C Omni 4000.

I'm impure blood. I do have Badger and Thayer & Chandler ABs too. But I get a warm, fuzzy and confident feeling when I pick up an Iwata.

Hmmm, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. I need to paint a Star Wars AT-AT walker...with an Iwata.

Chris,

The Revolution would be a waste of money with what you have already.
It is a cheaper version of your HP-CS so why waste the money? Wink [;)]

I know a person is hook when they have to justify, really hard, why they need another airbrush?

You need it because you like it? You need it because you want to sell the old ones to a person that needs a less expensive one and after the old ABs are sold you will need a replacement? You like a challenge and because you have mastered the old AB a newer challenge is seen and must be mastered? Yeah, they all sound like good reasons to get a new AB.

I've been reading the posts around which Airbrush to buy and I'm going to leap from the frying pan into the fire: Which airbrush should "I" buy?

I do mostly 1/48 scale WWII aircraft, starting to get into the more complex German camo patterns. I also dabble in 1/35 armor, again the more interesting camo schemes. I use an Aztek 470 ( I know, but it serves me well!) for my general work, mostly spraying acrylics. I'm looking for something that will do very fine line work.

Recommendations? Thanks for your comments on all of these postes. Good to see so many folks have a great sense of humor!

On the bench:  Academy 1/72 B-17G 'Blue Hen Chick';  1/48 Tamiya Mustang III; Kitty Hawk 1/32 P-39.

Completed:  1/48 Tamiya P-51D Mustang - 'Show Bird', 1/32 Dragon P-51D  Flying Tigers 'What if'; 1/32 Tamiya P-51D Big Beautiful Doll

Group build:1/48 Tamiya Mustang III; 1/48 Tamiya P-51D Show Bird

It is my Rodger Young but it isn't my creation. That is the authentic prop that was used in the movie "Starship Trooper." It was one of the many props that was hooked to the space station in the movie. I was so impressed with the RY that I hunted down one of the props, bought it and made a display case to show it off. The prop is only about 6-inches long. The picture you see is the ship in the display with a background and legend I made for it. I think I need to light the display case.

So...IT IS THE REAL RODGER YOUNG...prop! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks maddafinga, I like it too. Too much; I spent too much money to buy it.

To enlighten everyone the Rodger Young starship is the identifying image I'm using this month. This was the main starship that got really reamed in the movie 'Starship Troopers.' The whole ship had it middle section ripped completely out of it in its firey, very dramatic, death. That scene was a real eye-opener. So I'm using my prop for my picture.
