Uhhh...Iwata charges more for their parts to make up for people not replacing those parts that often? Maybe Iwata started the marketing idea of give away a product and get the money back on the parts. Just like inkjet computer printers. The manufacturer virtually give away a computer printer knowing you will have to buy ultta-expensive ink cartridges that cost them pennies to make. The company knows you have to deal with them, eventually, on their terms.

That is why you shouldn't break down the airbrush to clean it each time as it is unecessary and it leads to a shorter life of the parts.

1337, yeah, I still use the HP-B. With the medium sized cup, a .2 or .3 nozzle and proper thinning I can get a great thin paint line. It is well-balance and inspiring to use. I use it when I don't want to waste paint in a larger cup airbrush.

A quick review. I use the HP-B once in a while. The nozzle is small so I have to thin paint a little more to get the paint to work nicely. When the AB is ready it will paint a gracious line and you don't have to worry about spraying too much. I can paint thin lines with other airbrushes but you have to be careful not to pull back too far and spray too much paint. With the smaller nozzle of the HP-B I have more 'throw' on the airbrush trigger and can paint a smoother line.

So I use the HP-B for small detail areas with great control.

Here's a though, Mike. There is soooooooo much talk about how great Iwata airbrushes are that I'm sure several of us would like to try them, just so we can reinforce the fact that Badger's are superior, of course. What you should do is just rent it. I'd go $10 to play with one for a week, since by then I'd be ready to go back to my Omni Big Smile [:D] Three or four people and you'd have it paid for!

Mike, You will probably like the Iwata. It does have a different feel than your Badgers or T&C. Because you are an experienced airbrusher I doupt you will be able to acheive better results with it. You should notice that it handles a bit different which may or may not be to your liking. Good luck with it.

I can imagine the difference in those two. I too think the Aztek is kind of a gimmick. Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]
