Dave and I have discussed adding a chat feature to the site--a fair number of people have asked for it. Given the size of the FineScale.com community and the amount of tiime members spend on the site, I think we can build a very good case for "modelers' chat." We're looking into software, system requirements, etc. As you might expect, however, any plan we come up with would have be approved (and paid for ) by our corporate chain of command. So we're probably not going to have chat tomorrow, but I'd call it a "definite possibility" in the future.

Geez, am I sounding like something out of Scott Adams's "The Way of the Weasel" or what? [:0]

Great idea, Abrams. Believe it or not, it's something that I'd really like to see on here, too. Possibly set up chat rooms based on subject or era? Not sure what kind of server space it would take, but the idea has definite merit.
