You know, one thing I think would be helpful, is having video available on here.  Just small ones demonstrating certain techniques.  Just to see the movements of the hands and the like.  I've read hundreds of howto's with pictures showing how to paint on scratches in armor, but mine all still look painted on despite following everything exactly to the letter.  Being able to see like a 10-15 second video of someone doing this would be great, and would add to the reality theme I think.  The modeler channel has a few video's but only one showing technique and it actually works quite well.  I'm sure the modeler channel website would be more then happy to actually host the video's if they are given permission to post them on their site as part of their content, with an obvious plug to FSM and Kalmbach for providing the video's.  For some of my stuff, I would be glad to take video to demonstrate.

I'm always amazed by this. I'll think: There was an article about something in particular and it was just a year or two back. Then I start looking and it turns out it was 8-10 years ago. I'm not sure what it means except maybe time flies when you have a hobby you enjoy?

Yeah, it's something like that, Aaron! I'm pretty sure what it means, but I think I'll stick to your version :)

Those are the ones Aaron. Thanks for chiming in. My memory isnt what it once was (maybe never was!) and I had them off by a few years. The Honda Civic and Tri-tops were the ones I recall. I think along in that timespan is where I stopped getting the mag and drifted into other hobbies.

It's not so cold, just really, really snowy. I'm thankful all we got out of the storm was snow and not the brutal tornados that hit the South.

Good idea. It's been done.

FSM ran a series some years ago, where they took one of the office girls at Kalmbach - a total novice - and took her through building at least a car and a dinosaur, as I recall.

It wasn't under the wing of a master, but it hits the right idea. I like it. I rate this thread a four.
