Greetings from Indonesia!
Posted by MontyMahendra on Thursday, December 12, 2013 5:19 AM

Hi there,  my name is Monty Mahendra and I come from Indonesia. I have been modeling since childhood. Although on and off, the last 10 years has been the best modeling years of my life.

I take the hobby very seriously and loves to take on challenges. My major interest is on models that represent objects that have wings and can fly; but also on things with tracks and wheels.

I am mostly into cheap and old models and works mostly in the 1/72 and 1/48 scale. I am very happy and looking forward to take part in the forum!

All the best!

Well welcome to the forum Monty!!! It's great to have you over here. There's a great group of folks and a wealth of knowledge here. Folks for those of you who don't know Monty let me give you the proper intro here. He does indeed take modeling VERY SERIOUSLY!!! In my short while of knowing him I have seen nothing but spectacular builds out of him and the thing that awed me the most was seeing a P-40 he built from opening the box to the final coat of dullcoat in 16......wait lemme say that again 16 hours while sitting at a model building booth exhibit at a toy fair in Indonesia. You have to see that!!! The mans work is displays nothing but talent.

Welcome aboard Monty. Youre among friends here, Joe

What Mustang said, kicked up a notch or two. Monty thinks nothing of hacking off the nose of an F-14 and resculpting it to match the proper profile! Has great tips, eager to help, eager to learn and a tremendous talent. Welcome, friend.

Hi BlackSheep - thanks for the welcome! Here's the 16-hour model that I built a few months ago. I built it when I hosted a two-day live model workshop at a toys fair in Indonesia. The objective was to finish an unbuilt model - from start to finish - before the fair ends on the second day (22 hours)

That is ..... wow! No words to descibe it. I'm familiar that is a P-40 Warhawk. Funny, I'm currently reading "In My Sights" about a P-40 Warhawk ace during WW2.

Heh - got a 1/48 scale Hasegawa Hawker Typhoon Mk.I from the missus. Now this bumps my stash to 5 or 6 kits. LOL!
