JonD, I have no experience with the kits, but if you are just getting back into it, the Tamiya might offer an easier learning curve. Trumpeter tends to involve more detail. So maybe part of the answer lies in the level of experience you have, even if rusty. Personally, I'd go for the easier challenge to get started on. A first success is more likely to lead to a long term enjoyment of scale modeling. But someone here might say the trumpeter is the easiest build. If they say they know the kits, take the one they say is easiest.
