Hello (from Texas)
Posted by brownsfan1092 on Saturday, April 18, 2015 6:23 PM

Hello everyone.

I have recently gotten back into building model vehicles. I am in the army and have gotten interested in building military scale vehicles. Specifically the 1:35 scale. I live in Texas now and hope to find others who build too.

I have currently a M1A1 and M1078 LMTV with a M1082 LMTV trailer trailer attached to it, and I am about to finish building 2 M1025 HMMWV models, as well as a M997 (FLA). I have a M1083 MTV and M1078 (LMTV ARMOR CAB) that I will start on soon. I only get one day a week to work on these but I do enjoy having a collection. I need to learn to paint them to make the color look real, but currently everything is grey or tan that came how it was in the box.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Welcome aboard brownsfan! If you're active duty there's only a couple of places you could be. Lets see....Bliss? Hood? Ft. Sam?

Been at both places.  I had a blast at Ft. Hood in in my younger years. I was with 6th Cav. at Hood Army Airfield for about 5 years as a Huey Crewchief. I miss flying...............a lot!!

You live down near Fort Sam? San Antonio area? My wife currently lives down there and I'm down there all the time. Usually the only weekend I'm not down there (if any at all not down there) is the weekends my wife has drill (she's national guard) But I typically drive down in that area every weekend. I have had my car since May 2014 and I bought it with 4 miles. Currently sitting at 26500 if that says anything.
