I started modeling back in the days when there were still Blue Laws. Very few stores were open on Sunday. Walgreens was one of them. I sold newspapers on Saturday nights, and on Sunday mornings I was up at the small neighborhood Walgreens buying a new plastic model and paints with my tip money. And how could I forget that toxic tube of plastic cement.I started off building cars, then moved on to doing WWII aircraft and military hardware. As time went on, techniques improved and I began using an airbrush. At the time, what I was turning out I thought was pretty good. Not too long ago I ran across a scale modelers page on facebook and saw how exceptional and elaborate, and detailed the models now a days were being built. So at age 59, I have the itch again to start building, and it's an itch I intend to scratch. So I am here now to learn the newest techniques and to produce the best models I've ever built. It's a great feeling to build models you're proud of.P.S. - The cost of model kits today are unbelievable compared what I paid a millenia ago.
Welcome back to the hobby! The changes may seem to be unlimited but at the core, it's just stickin' parts to other parts , enjoying the process and learning a new technique or two along the way.
Read the various parts of the fourm to get and idea of todays "language" and ask as many questions as you want, the guys here are great at shairing the knowledge.
