Hi Gang, I'm an old modeler from the distant past but I still dable in plastic, mostley 1/48 and 1/72 aircraft. I'm a commercial photograher by trade and maybe I can post a few examples of my work. Just found the site today and thought I'd give it a shot. I hope you can put up with my weird sense of humor. (Life was made to be funny!) I'm never too old to learn and I'm sure I'll have some questions.

How's that?

Welcome to the Forums Max!  Glad to have you aboard!

I'm also an old modeler from the very distant past.  I've been building for 69 of my 75 years. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time (and my wallet says OK).  We'd love to see pics of your builds.

"Weird sense of humor"?  Oh, no, you won't fit in at all here!  Big Smile

Seriously, though, Max, welcome to the forum!  I look forward to seeing your builds, especially since we share some preference for scale.

Best regards,

Welcome, Max - Around 45 years ago, (before I knew better,) I used to putz around with dirt bikes, rode in two Barstow to Vegas events.

One guy had a hybrid bike, a mix of Ducati and Hodaka components, he called it a DUCADAKA. Match that for a weird sense of humor.

You'll find so many good model builders here, posting really fine examples of their builds. I've learned a great deal just following their work in progress posts, FSM forums are wonderful for daily visits.

Again, welcome Max, good to have you here.

Hey Gang, I'm overwhelmed by your welcomes, Thanks. I think I'm still under scrutiny as I'm having trouble getting back to you. Looking forward to getting in the loop and posting pictures of my lowly projects for your review. And Patrick, cool that you were in the motorcycle thing too. B to V, wow! I did a national vintage cross country race almost two years ago at 72. I think it's back to modeling as it was somewhat tough on the old guy!

I haven't figured out the picture thing yet but I haven't put much effort into it. I think I'm spoiled from using Hodaka (motorcycle) Forum where pictures can be shot and loaded to your desktop. All you have to do is drag them from the desktop into the message box. Almost everybody on our site uses pictures in most of the posts which can be put on site seconds after shooting.

I'm new and will probably figure out but there's not much guidence to get you started.  I see a lot of posts on this site without pictures. This worries me!

Later,

Max

Hmmm, strange forum. Nothing goes to the top, questions asked , no answers. I'd like to participate but perhaps I'm out of the loop. I am a modeler and I do like to make photo posts. How do I get started?

Like most forums you need a hosting site to post pics, one many use is photobucket.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

it's strange pushing 70 and still being considered one of the youngsters.

I use PhotoBucket and find it easy to use, but I suppose most of the good hosting sites are. If you still need help send me a message.

Welcome aboard Max! Photobucket is usually the weapon of choice for picture posting.

You'll most likely need a little help after you get that because it's a little tricky at first. Once you get the hang of things it'll be like second nature though.

I have uploaded a picture successfully to photobucket, but I do not see how to get that photo to appear on my post.  I can put the link in, but can't figure out how to get the actual photo!

Click on the picture Icon in the tool bar, this will bring up the edit image box. From Photobucket, click on the "Direct" line and Photobucket will automatically copy it for you. Insert the copied http into the Edit image source line and hit OK. That should do it.

Wow, there must be a better way to post pictures than Photobucket. I've wasted a couple of hours today with a system that only works part of the time. Any other options?

Hey there Max. Watch the video in the following link to see if it helps you out any. Half of it is wasted on signing up for photobucket but the pertinent information is there as well.

Here you go (hope this helps out): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UxjW7Aq_eU
