Compared to Everyone Else on Here, I'm Practically and Infant
Posted by Zank_Frappa on Thursday, August 11, 2016 8:00 PM

Hello! I've been lurking on this forum for a few months, and only just now have finally decided to join up. I'm 15, and I've been building models for 4 years now. I quite enjoy late war German aircraft, as well as cold war era jets; most of what I build is in 1/48 and 1/32. I look forward to posting some of my recent builds and becoming a member of the community.

Welcome to the Forums!  Glad to have you aboard!

You've come to the right place. The members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions/problems that you might have.

I've been building for 69 of my 75 years and I'm learning something new almost every day. I build mostly WWII aircraft in 1/72 & 1/48 but I also build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I'm gradually finishing up all my 1/72 and switching to 1/48 as my eyes and hands are not as good as they used to be.

Hope you enjoy building as that's the main part of this hobby. Looking forward to seeing pics of your builds.

I saw Frank at the Roxy, so yes you are a baby. He set impossible standards for himself as an artist and and was taken away too soon.

Welcome aboard!

Yes, Welcome! There's lots of info and experience on the Forum that wasn't available to me as a kid in the 1950s. You'll have experience to draw on from the Gang, but young thinking new ideas I'm sure. Looking forward to seeing your work.

We are all learning new things everyday.  As a forum member posted earlier, you know about Frank Zappa at your age, you're the man!  We all look forward to your builds.  Welcome aboard!

Wow, I wish I had these forums when I was 15! Like Mustang said, it's good to see some young folk interested in modeling.

Yes, post some pics of your builds.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
