wolfhammer1 Awesome video, I love the P-38. Is this part of a series, and if so what is it called?

They are called "Roaring Glory Warbirds" videos and are available on DVD. Most of the iconic fighters are covered (at least those with examples still flying).
Yes, the accident report can be read on Avweb.com. This has the probable causes of the crash.

Ironically, he died because of things he warned about the P-38 in the very video he produced.
I looked up the accident report on ntsb.gov. . . sounds like he may have run out of gas. he was in a different p-38, but this one was referenced as one he had flown previously for some few hours. It said the accident flight was the first in the accident a/c. This plane was out flying with him on that day.

the full narrative is available. He apparently only had a very limited amount of time in the p-38 - much of it looks to have been in this a/c while making this video. Sad indeed.

Mediocraties - my favorite Greek model builder.
Great video, especially since I'm building a P-38 right now. It's disturbing and sad that he died while flying this plane back in 1997.
"Can you fly this plane and land it?...Surely you can't be serious....I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
Nice video thanks for posting this.

This is a modern video about the P-38 Lightning. If you're interested in the P-38 and are doing a model, this is a good one to watch. An interesting video in its own right.
Hope you enjoy!
