Heh -

Rex, you would have to meet me in Utica instead. I live very close to the NYS Thruway interchange Exit 32 - which is located in North Utica (where I live). However, as luck would have it, there is yet another way to get to Watertown/Fort Drum area from here and that way is to take Route 12 North. Finding Route 12 North is too easy to find since I travel on that road every day in both directions.

Let me know next time you're heading out this way and we'll set something up.

Woody, I've only lived in Mason for a couple years. But, I really like the area. I have no plans in moving anytime soon. I'm originally from Sterling Heights, Michigan. When the Automotive industry dried up, I ended up in Dubuque, Iowa for a year, then Port St. Lucie, Florida for another two years.

I'm so close to Kings Island, I get to see the fireworks every night during the summer!

Elizabethtown, Kentucky, about 15 minutes south of the former Armor School at Fort Knox and about a half hour south of Louisville, Kentucky.

Elizabethtown is a pretty city. I used to go there quite a bit when I lived in Indy. The main hospital had one of the cancer treatment units that I work on. There was a very nice hobby shop there (the only one, I think) that I can't remember the name of. Is it still there?

I live in Indian Trail, North Carolina, which is about 15 miles south-east of downtown Charlotte, just off Highway 74 (Independence Boulevard), in Union County. We're about 7 miles west of Monroe, NC. Beautiful little town that has grown way too fast for it's roads. All 2-lane roads feeding a community that was around 2500 population 10 years ago, and has swelled to over 37,000 now, thanks to the major banks moving their headquarters to Charlotte. Needless to say, traffic congestion is a major headache.... Other than that, a great place to live.

Hee hee!

I used to watch the original series too when I was a kid.  The only story I remember was the one where a guy gets a cone shell for a present, and gets stung by it and dies.  It stuck in my mind because I had a shell collection that had one of those cone shells.  When I looked it up at the library (see how long ago that was) I was surprised to find out that the snail's sting was indeed deadly.  And I have seen live specimens when I used to go scuba diving.

Oh, and the main police station did not look like the one depicted in the show.  I think they used a mainland locale (LA?).  The new show uses Iolani Palace, not the actual less photogenic station which is only a couple of blocks away.

I am surprised to hear the new show used the Iolani Palace.

I somehow never watched the new series.

The original series used the palace as the setting exterior but , IIRC, filmed the series inside sets constructed in warehouses.

I think my favorite episode was with Hume Cronyn

Would that be Jersey Shore PA?

ha-ha...sorry, no.  THE Jersey Shore, unfortunately, as in the TV show.

I've been to Jersey Shore, PA, and I've also been to Sandy Hook, CT - Sandy Hook, NJ being about 10 minutes from my house.

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.

In the Minneapolis- St Paul area.  Won't bother with longitude, but only a few miles from 45th parallel.  That was important because the company I worked for was big in Inertial Navigation systems.  They built a lab right exactly on the parallel (it ran through the company property) and built in a star port pointing up at North Star.  Spent some effort because it reduced the math a bit when aligning test systems and doing data analysis.

I am in Lincoln, Nebraska, which is in the southeast part of the state. If you are traveling through Nebraska on I-80 the Strategic Air and Space Museum is located between Lincoln and Omaha about a 15 minute drive from the interstate. The static displays include a SR-71, U-2 and B-36 among others.

In the wild hills west of Fort Collins, Colorado. I'm the one that posted the thread looking for Washington modelers. Never did find one. Here's me in the wild hills:

Oh, I was just visiting and looking for a fellow modeler to go have a beer with. Nothing special. I ended up being so busy with family I probably couldn't have squeezed it in anyway. Such is life.

Ah, the patron saint of B-Town.

Maybe I should rephrase my statement;

Berwyn - the land of too many nail salons, dollar stores and liquor stores. Ain't life just grand?

Ah, the patron saint of B-Town.

Maybe I should rephrase my statement;

Berwyn - the land of too many nail salons, dollar stores and liquor stores. Ain't life just grand?

Add to those Chicagoland favorites all the red light cameras, car title shops and gold buying stores popping up all over like dandelions and toadstools after a summer rain.
Then Berwyn would indeed be the land of milk and honey.......................
Oh, yes. Life is grand!
