A friend of mine from work served on the Midway 71-73, and climbed into EKA-3B #612 then.  He is going to do the Trumpeter 1/48 EKA as #612.

I remember seeing the Midway in Yokohama harbor while TDY in Atsugi many years ago. Even though I was used to seeing the "Big E" and Carl Vincent at NAS Alameda, the Midway still impressed me with her size. She's quite a ship!

Aah !

Such a grand old girl . I served both on a ship with her group and then on Her .There was a time I found her confusing though . So much more room aboard than a FRAM Destroyer ! I am so glad they saved her .   Tanker - Builder

I was there about a year and a half ago and had an awesome time! Even my wife, who at first thought it would be boring, enjoyed it and couldnt stop commenting on how cool she thought it was.
