Hello Friend,

Just thinking of you, and continue to pray for you and Cathy. As I stated in  our PM's DO NOT HESITATE to contact Jill and I. We are just one state away and could be there in a day's drive.

Also...I echo BrandonK.....I will overload your house with kits and supplies.

Keep on Keepin' on buddy

Hunter & Jill

Steve,

Hope things go well in Texas, and that you keep your good spirits along the way.  (I'm guessing you can't drink the REALLY good spirits with your medicationWhistling)  My thought and prayers are with you and your family.  Good luck, and God bless.

New to the forums, but wanted to send some encouragement. The ability to model while in Texas will, I think, help you to keep up your positive attitude. You have some true friends on the forum. The Squadron tour sounds awesome!

Dwayne or Dman or just D.  All comments are welcome on my builds.

Thanks GH,

Yeah what a blessing!

Also in Dallas, at my brothers house, I can still build models. I wouldn't be able to do that sitting in a dorm room on the UW campus in Seattle. That was cheapest place we could find that that was close enough to the transplant center for $1400 a month. Dang Seattle is expensive!

Heres hoping you get into Dallas.  Will be a load off your mind knowing you won't have the big outlay like you would in Seattle.  Your PT at home hospital is great, I don't think thay would do that here for anyone.

When you go to Squadron, don't buy the place out. We want to be able to get stuff from there too. Wink

While in Dallas my wife and I want to go to Squadron for a tour and maybe some new goodies. Big Smile

That some good news bud. Prayers lifted up for you. As far as Squadron goes, I've been there many times back when I used to work at Vista Ridge Buick/ GMC (and way back when it was Pontiac too) off IH-35 at the George Bush Turnpike intersection there in Carrolton (which used to be Trinity Mills BTW) . Just get on the ol' GBT and in a few short minutes I was there.Wink

Thanks Check.
There are times when I get concerned for the future but things keep working out. For instance, the Hospital here in Boise is allowing me to work out at their gym using their oxygen for free for life. This fulfills the Pulmonary Rehab requirements for a transplant and allows me to keep the rest of my body healthy and workout without putting stress on my heart due to the lack of oxygen. Also we found out our insurance allows grants up to $5000 yearly for medical travel, lodging, car rental and pet lodging. What a blessing!

Hi guys,
I went to the pulmonologist Monday, a couple of months early, because my O2 saturation was dropping so quickly with activity. Well my numbers have dropped significantly and my Dr. wants me to go to the transplant center to “get on the books”.\
After some checking with the insurance and other entity’s, I asked the Dr. to refer me to UT Southwestern in Dallas. My brother lives there and we can stay with him should it become necessary for a transplant in the future which would save up somewhere around $1600 to $2000 per month. The Dr. hasn’t responded yet but there isn’t any reason to deny it since it is really my decision.
If all goes well, we should go there sometime in the spring to do the initial breathing test and workup.
That’s my update. While in Dallas my wife and I want to go to Squadron for a tour and maybe some new goodies. Big Smile

Yes, I'm passed that phase. I was feeling sorry for myself several months back but reading others stories, I snapped out of it. There are several other members on the forum who have/are going through much worse than I and do not complain. It woke me up.
