I too, learned of Dan's Passing on Facebook. He was always very humble and helpful and encouraging of our hobby. I was fortunate to place Best in Show in my 2nd Contest ever and Dan Congratulated me whole heartedly! He was an amazing talent and a fun guy. My profound condolences to his family and friends. he will truly be missed.

For those of us who follow or have followed Finescale Modeler some of the more unique subjects have been the cut away aircraft of Dan Jayne.  It appears that Dan passed away suddenly March 1.  I had the privlige of chatting with Dan over the last couple of years.  He inspired me to attempt cut away aircraft.

I pass this news along with deep sadness and shocked disbelief.

My deepest condolences to his family and those close to him.

He will be greatly missed.

Joe

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
