Yeah, today is the first time in several weeks that I've been able to log in.  I tried the workarounds and none of them worked, for any browser, but today it works again.
Go figure.

Couldn't get on for a while but the other day I tried by going to the forum page before logging on and it worked on the third try. Using the same method I logged on today on the first try. Haven't done anything about any "cookies". Can't use all the sugar anyway.Wink

I've stayed logged in on my home computer, but I thought I'd try logging in at work, just to see if the problem still exists.  I wasn't able to log in either, so something is still a problem.

Just a thought... I am a subscriber to FSM magazine hard copy. A least one member who could not log on was not a subscriber.  Any comments or thoughts?

Hard copy subscriber as well.....

That’s irrelevant. Anybody can join the FSM forums whether you’re a subscriber to the magazine or not.

Subscriber here too and reported it innitially but it's working fine since cleaning the cookies.

I'm a hard copy subscriber and I can't get in on Chrome. I'm currently using IE and Edge. I can also use incognito on Chrome to get in but as has been pointed out it's a PIA.

Hello!

Finally I'm back! First I have cleared some of the cookies and cache - that didn't do it for me, still couldn't log in. Then I went for a business trip and today I got back and logged in with no problems! So I guess FSM finally patched the bug...

Other than that - their site really wasn't safe, some time ago I got an e-mail trying to blackmail me, they insisted they knew my email and the password to that, just that it was my email and password for the fsm forum here... I say it's entirely possible some hackers targeted FSM because of their poor security, that could also cause problems with logging in.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

Paweł

Gamera

Couldn't get on the site with the office computer (Win10/Chrome) at all last week even after taking all of Ms. Nash's advice. Saturday got on with no issues with my laptop (Win7/Pale Moon). Then Monday tried to get on with the office computer and had no issues at all.

So darned if I know...

I had a conversation with John Eaton, he suggested it was a fix needed at FSM end. That seems to be what cleared it up.

Doing a complete cashe and cookie clear did it for me on Safari, I.E., and Chrome. Took a little longer to login the first time but everything works.

I have not had this  problem BUT many others have.

In my atempts to help others "Fix" or workaround the issue I have run into the following:

Tried the cache and cookie clean up. No go. ( Lost some passwords under IE.)

Tried different browsers.   Log in still fails with Mozilla & IE.

Tried to reset password but get a message that says: "unable to locate you in out system".

Tried Google Chrome. Incognito mode worked.

A couple of quick screen shots on how to get into Chrome INGOGNITO mode.  Click on Customization icon in upper right corner then click on Incognito in the small window that opens:

Hey everyone! I have a work around for you. The problem has to do with old cookies, so try clearing those along with your cache. If that does not work then going into "incognito mode" should do it. Our tech team is currently working on a permanent solution.

I'll get back to you when I hear more!

I doubt it. I never cleared out my cache. So it’s got to something screwy on your end with all these upgrades you’ve been doing. Suddenly last night I was able to log on? What does that tell you?

Real G
I think the IT guys at FSM must be making some progress, as I finally have been able to log in via incognito mode. That and deleting all cookies have not worked until just now, on my phone and desktop computer.

It's working ok for me now on my laptop (Win 10) using both Edge and Chrome browsers in normal mode without having to clear the cookies first.

Had an e-mail from Thgeuns yesterday. he has tried everything including a new account, but he still can't get on. What ever the problem is,it seems to be effecting different people in different ways.

Well it's about damn time I was able to log in after almost 1 1/2 weeks of being locked out.

Now to vent out my frustration directly to FSM:

Do yourself a favor... STOP DOING UPGRADES!!!! You're only asking for more trouble if your IT guys keep screwing it up everytime you decide to do an upgrade. If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!!!!! Rant over....

I've had problems logging in as well. I also have been unable to access my digital copy of FSM for several months without having to call them up. Now they don't respond at all, so I cancelled my subscription. Sad to have had to do it but I didn't see much of an alternative.

Thankful for this post. I've been locked out for a week or so it seems. Incognito worked for me. It's good to be back. Hope FSM can fix this problem.

Couldn't get in with IE, but chrome blew right in.  At least back in for the time being to get my daily "fix".
