Dallas
3/21/2005 – 2/12/2019
It is with immense sadness that I report that my build buddy has passed today.
We got him from the pound as a pup in 2005 and he and I were never separated until I needed to relocate to Dallas TX last year for my lung transplant. He went to job sites with me, rode in my car or pickup when I needed something from the store and rode along with me as I drove as a truck driver. He saw 48 states plus Canada. He went to more places than probably 98% or more of Americans. Although he was in good health for a 12-year-old lab, I knew when I finally returned for good, he would not be with us. I saw him when I returned for visits, but I watched his health worsen. Over Christmas I spent as much time as I could with him because I somehow knew it was the last. He was suffering from arthritis, the beginnings of cancer and possibly laryngeal paralysis. Last week he became incontinent and often couldn’t make it out the door, nor could he squat to go o the bathroom. It would have been cruel to make him wait for me to return possibly in May so I could say goodbye one more time.
My wife and I spoke about it and the doctor said it wouldn’t be to early, so this morning my wife made an appointment to take him in.
I’m going to miss my best bud. I love you Dallas, you made my life better.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
