Saw Scorp and mikes post about being in the magazine. Anyone else been published? Seems it would be quite a honor, I'm sure they are inundated with submissions.

I've had a couple of my pieces photgraphed and published in Historical Miniatures Magazine.

I've had one of my forum posts find its way into FSM and had an article printed in AMPS's Boresight magazine.

I once did a review build for FSM as well as had tips and letters published. Had a show report published in SAMI. Did a couple of reviews for IPMS (website).

Now it looks as if I will be doing review builds for Aerospace Modeler occasionally.

To get published as far as review builds...you gotta build 'em fast and good as well as be able to write and document the process. Finding someone who can do all three adequately is tough for the editors.

I've had a few models shown in FSM, and am still amazed they chose them!  The work I see here everyday is awe-inspiring.  My hat's off to you fellas as well! Bow [bow]

No danger of my stuff showing up in print.

Just being around this forum, though, makes me a far better modeller.

Maybe some day...

I've gotten in FSM reader tips section, December 2008 to be exact. However none of my pics have been published.......yet. Thus that encourages me to improve my modeling techniques.Cool [8D]

Just out of curiousity, how much, if anything to people get paid for tips and/or having a model in the Reader's Gallery? I looked around and couldn't find any info.

Regards,

Jeff

Well for tips you get paid......$25.00 and you get a free issue of FSM, but you get paid more if their are pics published with those tips. Don't know about reader gallery payments.

Jeff,

The Reader Gallery payment depends on the size of the published photo. The best photos/models run bigger, so we pay more.

Thanks for the replies.

Matt, I kind of figured it was on some sort of "sliding scale" where larger photos paid more. What the hell, 25 bucks(or more) is 25 bucks...

Jeff

My Fledermaus was in the Jan. 2008 issue of FSM, as part of a photo spread on Wonderfest, USA.

My Fliege has been in several mags (like Amazing Figure Modeler) and is used on the Wonderfest USA main webpage.

Trying to get more sci-fi into FSM, not really successful so far. We're the black sheep of the modeling community...

I had a picture published at FSM. They also bought an article from me about a cut-away Shiden-kai. It's been over a year, yet hasn't seen it in print Sad [:(] Also had a few build articles in Scaled Aircraft Modelling (UK Mag) including one on the front cover with the Eduard bf110.
