Ahhh, Herman Munster. From monster to Alabama Circuit Judge (My Cousin Vinny) Who says you can't get ahead!

Glad you're back.

Thanks for all the props guys. The issue I'm trying to deal with right now is the correct skin colors. The TV shows were in black and white as are most pics that Google pulls up. On top of that I'm color blind so I have to rely on my wife to pick the colors. We did that yesterday and settled on Mr. Color IJN Gray Green. Once everything's painted up, I'll do the final assembly and promise to post a few pics.

I think we'd all love to see some pictures if at all possible.  Gotta love that Munstermobile!!!

Congrats on the new builds! Sometimes it takes something different to jar us back awake. I haven't touched plastic myself since last October; haven't had the right opportunities, but the Corsair my son is working on is coming along, so at least the desk isn't gathering dust...

Awesome to hear! I think down time is important. Everyone has periods where they just don't feel like doing things they normally would. I used to compound this feeling - like I think most people do - with telling myself that there was something wrong, but there really wasn't. It's just a normal thing. I used to go at things obsessively in my youth, and it led to a lot of burnout. One thing I appreciate about being older is that I've learned to take things at a healthy pace, and not to force things. Time off/away from things leads to renewal, and just like you have discovered with sanding and painting, things are often more enjoyable when you return to them than before. Have fun, cwalker3!

I haven't done anything with a model since August 2010. I keep reading about them and buying them and promising myself to start one soon. but up until a few weeks ago I did nothing. Then one night my grandsons spent the night and while flipping through the Netflix menu we came upon the Munsters old TV series. So we watch a few episodes and they were hooked. A few days later I saw that Moebius had come out with new Herman Munster and Grandpa models so of course I had to order them and promised myself to build them for my boys.

Well I'm happy to say that I have finished the both models and am working on the final sanding on Grandpa. Next will be painting both models. The funny thing is, in the past I used to despise the sanding and painting stages but now I find myself actually looking forward to these steps. I just hope that my enthusiasm continues because I have a whole bunch of kits in the stash that I'm just itching to get started on. Wish me luck!
