Bish,

If my other half went out to my shop, which is attached to the un-attached garage and looked at all the large rubbermade tubs with my stash in them she would probably freak!!  last time i counted I was over 300+

And now I've decided I like to 1/72 scale!   most of my other stuff is is predominately 1/48 but I suppose as I get older I'll go back to the larger stuff.   I already use a high power optivisor when I work,  I really hate  cheater glasses.

200 kits in a stash? You'd better have a room the size of Bish's. lol. This ...I'd like to see.

You want a room a damn site bigger than the one I have. I am now completely out of space. My Jagdpanther has ha to be boxed up and put in the shed. I have less than 40 on display, and no where to put any more. No idea what I am going to do with a 32nd 109.

John, I keep telling my other half that my stash isn't as bad as some, but she won't have it and still thinks I have to much.

I didn't think 200 was too bad!  I'm not going to say how many I have,  in fact I'm not sure how many are in my stash at the moment.  Surprise

Hey - Bish :

I still do that . I remove the items from their Blister packs and put them in appropriate sized Zip - Loc bags .

I still leave everything in the pack for fear of losing or damaging anything. I have only just gone through my stash and taken the instructions and decals out to store them where they won't get damp.

I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my inventory.  I also use it to keep track of kits & aftermarket items I am interested in acquiring.  Works well for me and when I am heading to a show I print of my 'wish list'.  Keeps me focused in the vendor room.

My system is to open the closet and exclaim "D^$&!  Where did all those models come from?"

Those dang fruil tracks and other armor am are a kit in themselves. No way would they fit in the kit box

Bish

I stared doing that until i found I couldn't close many of the box lids. That starts getting awkward when your adding Fruil tracks or many of those resin AM bits in the blister packs. I just found it easier to store the Am parts separately, aircraft in one box armour in another.

Oh wow, guess I don't add a whole lot to most kits- I can see what you mean there though.

Back when I had about 125-130 kits, I could tell you when and where I got each and every one of em, and how much I paid. I also knew every bit of a/m goodies I had and what they went to. Now that I'm over 200 strong in the stash, I stick any a/m items in with the kit, and write down everything on a piece of  tape and stick it to the box. I have given up on committing everything to memory.

There are a few a/m bits that just won't fit in the box...I make a note of what I have, on that particular box, so I don't forget to use the goodies....again!

I have a plastic 3-drawer organizer where I keep all my AM resin in one drawer, decals in another and PE in another. The kit will have a list of the goodies to be used so when I eventually get to it the list will remind me of the extras.

Good idea Bish- but mine's even simpler. I put any update parts in the same box with the kit.

I started doing that a few years back. I simply have a word doc with a pic of the kit and all the AM parts and I also add if I am using kit or AM parts such as tracks, decals, canopy etc. I know there are stash inventory's you can download, but I found it much easier to create my own documents.

Burned by too much "stash".

I'm working on a Revell "Smithsonian Edition" 1/32 F4F Wildcat. I've had this one for a while and decided to get going with it after finishing up that 1/12 engine kit. Having progressed fairly well, I decided to get the Nemrod resin pilot and mechanic figures I have to accompany it, as well as start looking over the Techmod decal set to figure out which version I want to finish it off as.

Now comes the "burned" part. Because of the years that have passed since getting all these items, I completely forgot about the cockpit upgrade set that was also in the drawer, buried behind several other resin cockpit sets for other stash dwellers.

It would appear that a "stash list" inventory sheet would be a good idea.
