A friend in the armor forum suggested I post here as well to get the most responses. I imagine that most every response will be different which is cool. It shows the many different subjects that exist in the modeling world. Saying that....I have my eye on my Dragon T-34 and Tamiya Matilda as subjects that have been lacking in my completed builds. I'm mostly a German armor builder, but like all armor, and those are subjects that are sorely missing from my shelves.
So, which stash kit is screaming at you to build it next?
Eric
I have a number of subjects that I would like to add at least one of to the completed pile. As I mentioned in the other thread, I would like to add an early war German build in pz Grey or the two tone scheme. But at the top of the list is an He 219. I have all 4 Dragon 72nd kits plus the Revell 32nd, but I think I will start small and am hoping to get one built later this year.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
In no particular order:
1. 1/144 Revell C-17 Globemaster
2. 1/72 Hasegawa E-2C Hawkeye 6-bladed props
3. 1/72 Hasegawa AH-64D
and you may find this strange ---
4. A Kitech DC-10 which I plan to convert to a KC-10.
If I could somehow pull this small box from behind the stash Ill begin work with earnest.
No bucks, no Buck Rogers
1/72 scale Airfix C-47 Skytrain kit. I plan on building it as Whiskey Seven. First, I've got a bunch of AM/PE parts I need to get before building it.
Aircraft:
1/24 Bagged AIRFIX: BF 109e; Ju 87 B; P-51D
I have been slowly acquiring aftermarket for the Bf 109E in the form of Squadron Vac form canopies and brass gun barrels ; will be looking for a source of instruments and seat belts this month.
Unfortunately, I will need to make stencils as those items never seem to have been offered for the German aircraft.
armour:
1/25 armour on hold until I am able to make metal tracks for the kits.
What I would like to finish in the stash would be Tamiya's Dragon Wagon.
What I would like to start..
Dragons Pz.kpfw. iv Ausf.f2(G)....Tunisia
Dragon Pz.kpfw.iii 3.7cm flak 43
Tristar 2cm flak 38 Pz.kpw 38t
And for a break from armor

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Tamiya 1/32 birdcage F4U Corsair

just not a lot of time to start big builds like these
I guess my Dora Railway Gun. Even tho its only 1/144, its still going to be a challenge ...

Hi-Tigerman ;
I do like your avatar . I love those beautiful big Striped Kitties . Now the question was a good one . I am eyeing an Airfix kit of a Paddle-Wheel steam engine designed and built by a fellow named MAUDSLEY in 1827 .
Now they list no scale , but after examining the kit I am going to say it's either 1/32 or 1/24 . Lots of parts and very well molded .Stash was forgotten when I saw this one in Squadron's catalogue ! T.B.
P.S. As far as figuring the scale they give no particulars of the actual size of the engine or the wheel it drives .
toss up between my HETT 1090 or my MAZ TEL Scud launcher, can't even come close to which aircraft i want to build.
we're modelers it's what we do
Right now it's the Tamiya 1/32 Mossie obviously. Just too busy right now to get into such an involved build.
The Lindbergh 1/48 F-100
The GIANT Monogram B-36 Peacemaker, has I have fond memories of watching my dad build that kit when I was a kid. He was not a model builder per say, but he flew in them when he was in the Air Force.
Every dang one of em....which is a problem. I can't seem to pick one over another, so...I do nothing
Tis a good question my friend.
I guess there are two that are currently in the stash that I kind of get lost when I get to thinking about them. Niether will be a surprise to anyone that has known me for any length of time.
I have a 1/32 Hasegawa P-40E. This kit is one that I really want to dive into. I have several hundred photos from many many sources documenting everything from the frame to some minute details. I have drawings and manuals that I get lost in when I read them.
I have the visible 1/48 B-17G. In the same boat as with the P-40E, I have literally hundreds of photos, drawings, schematics, diagrams, etc. All of which deserve justice in such a build.
Both of these deserve to have all the detail shown and all the parts working. I doubt I am up to the working parts but I am working my way up to the full detail showing. These two are top of the list.

Well hell yeah I'll post to this again!! Cool thread Eric!
This..............hands down! I've wanted this kit for about 22 years and just recently got it finally a couple of months ago and got a replacment decal sheet from Dragon to replace the aged and damaged original sheet.

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo

Tamiya 1/350 USS Enterprise, 1/350 USS Missouri (WWII era) & a Monogram 1/72 B-36
Great thread Eric. Thanks for asking.Certainly, like others here, I have a sizeable stash of "Love to builds". Yet, I have three that are tops on my list:
1/48 Monogram Pro-Modeler PBY-5A Catalina: My father flew these during and after the war as a flight instructor. Although he flew just about everything the Navy had, he flew the PBY most and loved it. Always wanted to build this for my dad, but he passed away suddenly before I was ever able to and thus, it is at the top of my list.
1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A and/ or 1D: My favorite all time aircraft. Mt father also flew these and really had an affinity for the bentwing bird.
1/48 Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon Mine Hunter: This is the helicopter my brother flew most of his career in the Navy and as commander of HM-14 squadron.
I have yet to build these as I, like many others here, took a number of years off from modeling and since I started building again I've wanted to build up and sharpen my skills prior to building these. I really want to put by best efforts into these.

Once upon a time, far, far away.... I remember in grade school collecting and sending in pennies to save her, and touring her upon restoration, and decades later watched her under limited sail during the first Tall Ships festival, also she's less than an hours drive for research : USS Constitution, Revells 1:96 kit. Picked it up at a good price but will not be tempted until I have a enough quality builds worked up to go at it.

This is a somewhat difficult question for me to answer. I have a modest stash and is quite hard to pick out A single subject but I have some that fit that bill:
Itareri 1/35 Sd.Kfz.232 6 Rad car with interior and resin updates, kit #6445
Hobby Boss 1/48 A-6E Intruder. This is an awesome kit with tons of weapons and folding wing option to boot.
Bandai 1/24 George. This one needs extra TLC and scratch building in the pit and engine areas but it will make one heck of a display piece.
1/32 Trumpeter Ju87G-2 Tank Buster. What a freaking impressive detailed kit this is.
I better stop here cause it's just too hard for me to pick out a favorite one.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

Wow, folks! I love the selections in this thread.
For my own choice - assuming I could stay focused on the build - I would pick either my 1/32 Hobby Boss P-61 Black Widow or my 1/32 Silver Wings Hawker Hart. I have all the extras I need for the Widow, and a couple of not necessary ones for the Hart. Now I just need that most precious aftermarket item...time.
And then there's the 1/350 U.S.S. Johnston waiting...but don't tell anyone. I'm supposed to build airplanes!

A great topic indeed! I think there are two things I'd like to tackle next. The one that has my hyperventilating at the moment is the 1/48 XB-42 Mixmaster that I got from Lone Star Models a couple of months ago. Once I finish the Monogram F-86D that I'm working on, I think I'll jump on that XB-42.
The second thing I'd like to tackle....the second thing I NEED to tackle is a display area. I am seriously out of room in my house and my models have taken over my poor wife's display cabinets. We plan on taking a trip to Ikea in the spring andloading up a rental van with stuff. I think I'm going to grab a couple of glass display cases while I'm there and then I'll put them in my basement next to my workbench.
