all that was on her deck at that time was a flight of Zeroes. That would be three. And one of those took off... talk about a moment in time...

Hmmm. Hmm You know I like modeling moments in time.

I orderd the super detail set last night which includes a wood deck for half the asking price off eBay. All I need now is some extra planes (Hase doesn't supply very many)

well, if you model her at Midway in the final moments before Lt Best and the First Division of Bombing Six struck, according to Shattered Sword, all that was on her deck at that time was a flight of Zeroes. That would be three. And one of those took off... talk about a moment in time...

Thank you Bruce.

I orderd the super detail set last night which includes a wood deck for half the asking price off eBay. All I need now is some extra planes (Hase doesn't supply very many) some figures and maybe metal barrels for the 20 cm and 12 cm guns.

This came in today from Japan. It was the pinicle of my wishlist. I prpbably won't get to it for a couple of years but need to save up for the AM parts now. I am really looking forward to this kit. It's got over 800 parts and is a big box.

WooHoo!! I see a Japanese GB in our future!

The Akagi, in your hands, will be one truely epic build, Steve!

Won a 1/35 T-62 with mine plow circa 1975 so too late for Golan Heights. Probably use it for club Christmas party. Got the latest Meng egg tank Matilda, Meng 1/35 1914/1920 ROLLS ROYCE armoured car that I will add to the Russian Civil War class I teach, and the OTS Takom Russian 537 8x8 trucks. At the AMPS auction I got the Trumpeter STRYKER mortar and LAV mortar. Ps after being an M60A2 plt leader I was the battalion 107mm mortar plt leader.

Just picked up ICMs 1/24 scale G4 German staff car. Looks like it will be way more buildable than the ROG 1/35th I shelved a few years back.

Also treated myself to a 1/1 scale 2017 F-150 4WD pickup. First nearly new truck I have had in over 20yrs. It has more bells and whistles than I know how to use however I finally have a vehicle with a working speedometer and gas gauge in the same instument cluster.

If it isn't obvious I'm pretty excited about it. I like the G4 too, just harder to drive that one.

But the b25 a years back.  Is the intruder 1/48?  How is the kit?  I did the revelle one a while ago and would like to see a nicer kit.

The A-6 is actually 1/72. Rather nice looking kit for it's age. A little bit of flash on it here and there but, nothing apparently to terrible to clean up. I've been wanting to add one of these Fujimi kits to my stash as I was lacking an A-6 for USN aircraft stash.

Archangel Shooter

Looks like I'm geting back into German armor again. Got this on a Deal of the Day special for around $38. This is my first Takom kit and taking a peep inside the box, I'm blown away by the number of sprues and parts. Very impressive kit.

Nice grab! I almost bought the other Panther offering on that deal of the day. This is the one with the clear turret, correct?

And I do like the idea of an interior, I'd like to build one where the top half of the hull in not attached to show the interior.

Agreed, both Meng and Takom are really stepping up their game lately. I like Meng a bit more personally, simply because of the modular approach they decided on for their German armor kits.

Thats a good deal for that kit. I am not into the full interiours myself and am leaning more towards the meng kits, but both companies seem to be taking the lead on armour subjects.

Along some various paints I got the new Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire and the new Tamiya Sheridan in 1/35 scale.  I did their old Sheridan, oh, 35 years ago.  It's not my favorite vehicle by a long shot, but it looks good enough.  I think that the Acameny kits are nice as well.  (I never have compared a model to paper drawing, close enough is my philosophy.)

Hey Brother! You wouldn't want to get rid of the Phrog ? If so maybe we can work out a trade or sale for it. I flew on the Phrog many a time while I ws based at K-Bay. My email is captlhcole91 @gmail.com

I went a little nuts at an IPMS Show in Dayton.

Which one to build next?  I'm thinking Wildcat.

That Hawk looks like a great kit! I bet it’s much better than the Airfix equivalent.

Clint, the Hawk is primarily a trainer aircraft. The Mk. 67 is one of a number of export versions, this one being specfically for S. Korea. the Koreans retired them a few years back.

The Hawk has been around since the mid 70's and is best known as the current mount of the Red Arrows.

Bought these two at the IPMS Roscoe Turner in Indianapolis last weekend

Stash 16

I've been looking for this for a long time now. Found the J first and thought well I might be able to back date it to the Nam era then on the last row of vendors I found the A so picked it up since it was the one I was really wanting. Might sell or trade the J. Also won 5 kits gave two away to teens who had entered something into the contest, A MIG 15 and a 1/72 F-22. Here are the other 3 Stash 17

Stash 18

I know nothing about moderen jets or even what that last one is except its British with South Korean markings.

Thanks Mopar Madness, we don't see many 'old' US kits here so we have to grab them when we can!

Now to build the already Orange one as per the box art/instructions, and the 'Grey' one as perhaps something totally different!

Remember , common sense is not common.

You mean that station on the rear right. I believe that been missing for years, before Bovvy got there hands on it. I am not sure if its the result of damage recieved when it was fired at in 1944. That might cause it to to lean slightly. The suspension looks pretty good, if that had gone you would know about it.

I just checked my photos. For some reason I thought it was supported by wooden blocks, but that's the Munster Tiger II, Bovington's cat is still sitting on its own suspension.

However, there are actually two wheel stations missing on the right side.

The stance looks perfectly fine on the left, but it's a bit of a mess on the right side:

I couldn't find a photo that shows the lean properly, but it's there and very noticeable if you stare at it long enough.

Cheers for the heads up. I'll make a note of that. I know they used the Bovvy Tiger for referance. I wounder if that is missing interiour parts which make it lighter so the suspension sits higher.

I've been to Bovington last year and their Tiger II is in pretty bad shape to be honest, with an entire roadwheel pair, including the suspension arm, missing completely. It even leans to one side as a result of that.

I don't know how it looks internally, but I doubt that suspension still works properly.

All that being said, Its stance looks pretty good to me height-wise.
