Join the club, Don!
Listen to the doctors but most importantly listen to what your body is telling you. Ever since my heart went south in the middle of close combat in Afghanistan it is one of the main things you pay attention to is what your body is telling you.
Your heart is the engine and if that goes wrong a hole heap of other stuff doesn't fare so well. My heart and body soon tells me if I start doing more than it can cope with. It is a warning that if you continue your body is going to hurt you and the pain that your body and heart went through is nover forgotten by it. Your brain may push that to one side, but your physical body NEVER forgets and it will do it again to remind you every so often.
So, my friend, take a quiet Christmas, cut down on the egg nog etc sleep when your body wants it and stick to the bench with a nice kit.
If you do feel up to it then even join in with our 12 day christmas build challenge. Nothing too complex and easy to do is a sure fire way to get a badge and you do have 12 days so with the right kit you really have plenty of time!
You might be wise to get a medic alert dogtag with the details of your complaint etched and any medication you are now on. It will help if problems arise and the medics have to be called and you can't talk to them. they will see the tag and know that it has the details you need. I wear one.
Something like this is excellent. Don't be afraid to wear one. It can save your life!

So, take it easy, lower the stress by building something and put your feet up, stick to the medication like glue and don't take the rat poison... Asprin is just fine!
A very small medicinal whiskey once a week will help!
