That Midway build did turn out great Bill. Man I've gotta hand it to you guys that build ship models. You all have to be the most patient people on the planet.

Good job on that Pizza Oven as well. You taking orders?

Both your builds this year look great!  I still have a "shed kit" that I got for Christmas LAST YEAR that I haven't put up yet!  Lol

Well done on that stunning flattop. Your skills are well represented here. The pizza oven is pretty nice as well, and far more useful. Well done.

I love the Midway, Bill, it really doesn't look like an old kit at all, the AM goodies and your skill make all the difference.

            Hutch.

PS I wish I had room in the garden for a pizza oven like that!

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

I like the Midway. I especially like the 1:1 pizza oven

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

That looks like a fine year's work to me, Bill.

Those carriers are a lot of work. I remember at least one I built as a kid, thought it was never going to end.

I started and finished the Revell CV-41 Midway. This was Revell's second ever ship kit, and it was a good one.

There's a build log elsewhere on this site. The basic idea was to graft a full lower hull onto the "flat bottom" kit hull.

Working from an old Mike Ashey article provided to me by Bill Morrison, I picked up a Forrestal glue bomb and cut up that hull to provide what I needed below water line.

AM decals and PE, and a general clean up.

Bill

p.s. I did build a pizza oven.
