Man oh man, the PJ model factory turned out some beautious work for the year, all around great work. The '84 has to be my favorite, all others close behind and examples of very skillfull building and finishing. Thanks for the post and photos.

Great collection of builds pj. I especially like the Alclad on the f84.

I have a lot of armor currently in the stash. I would be down for an armor GB in 22.

Lovely work PJ. The 8 wheeled Rad is fantastic, great job on the vehicle and the figures. I like the idea of a cat build and Secret Santa gave me a tiger, so if it comes to fruition, I'm in.

Beautiful builds PJ. There may not be a lot but they are quality!

Yeah, I'd be up for an armor build sometime. I believe Bish is going to start a Gulf War B next year.

Thanks Steve, planning on a few more for 22.

Hey how cool would a cat GB like Tigers, Puma and Panthers?

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Crown and Bish, a while back Dragon USA had one heck of a special sale with insane low prices and free shipping. I bought a bunch of armor kits, some being new releases but have not seen that kind of sale again. Depending on the kit they included a free boxed set of Dragon figures too.

Would be great to have more armor GBs.

I have gone off Dragon a bit, largely due to high prices for kits which are often many years old, while new companies are bringing out new tools at mush lower prices. For me, Dargon are like Hasegawa a bit, they have gone off the boil and relying on past reputaion. But i will still buy their kits if there is no better option.

The last few armour GB's on here were not taht well supported after loseing a lot of the hardcore armour builders. But it might be worth trying again, just got to find the right subject.

I have some Takom, RFV, and  Meng kits with complete interiors that are super detailed and were cheaper than Dragon kits with no interiors. I'm waiting for an armor GB to pop up in the near future to join in.

Gamera

Fantastic work PJ! Love them all but esp that F-84- the NM is superb!

And yeah, Dragon used to do some killer sales. They largely stopped, when the prices are generally higher than Sprue Brothers I kinda drifted away from checking their site. Guess the bright side is I'm less likely now to buy something just because it's on sale.

Thanks Gamera. Yea the F84 finish came out looking great. The Gauzy product goes on a tad pebbly but levels out within a couple of minutes leaving a rock hard glass smooth finish and doesn't alter the metallic tone.

Thanks TJS. I keep pretty well spread out with the building subjects. On the radio car I used cheap hair spray from the Dollar Store for the chipping, using a toothpic and small water dampened brush to attack the hairspray.

Excellent work!  I like how you mixed it up, building aircraft, armor, and a sub, which illustrates your skills as a builder.  The F-14s look great especially considering the kits that you used.  Your SEA scheme on the F-4 turned out beautifuly. That natural metal scheme on the F-84 just gleams!  Finally, your weathering, figure work, and base for your German radio car make it into an awesome vignette.  What chipping method did you use on the radiocar?

My builds for 2021
Posted by plasticjunkie on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 8:41 AM

Was hoping to bring down the stash size but was only able to build just a few models this year.

This was my last build for 2021, a commission of the huge 1/32 Revell F4E.

Trumpeter 1/32 Bf109K with lots of scratch work in the pit and engine.

Lots of plumbing and wires were added

Next was the old 1/48 Revell F14A comission in Iranian colors.

Then another cat, 1/48 F14A from  Testors with AM decals. Great fit but missing some details.

The 1/48 Revell F84 was a joy to build, having great detailing and fit. The Alclad went down as usual. I used Gauzy shine enhancer to protect the Alclad and love the product.

This little guy is a 1/144 Revell Type II/B U Boat. I think it’s an ex ICM mold.

Got away from planes doing this 1/35 AFV Club 8 rad radio car with Dragon crew.

I hope to have more models built in 2022. Have a safe and healthy New Year!
