Ok. That sounds good to me. Actually I think we were kind of heading in that direction with the Ferrari project if I remember correctly.

So here's the deal. You can start whenever you want to, with a projected completion date of July 1st. Or should I say June 1st and then maybe everyone will actually finish by July 1st.Tongue [:P]
The project this time will be any type of 'figure', which would include the gundam wing and other such models as well. I will start a thread dedicated to the new project within the next couple of days. Good luck and let's have at 'er!!

Personally, I'm gonna take a break for a bit and focus on a couple of other builds I've been trying to get done.

I'm off to the hobby shop to see what I can find re: Gundam Wing!! (or maybe some cool little military figures...)

I think this CBP is a great idea. I've followed the Ferrari build, but didn't take part. If it's OK with everyone, I'd like to join in on this one. I'm willing to build any subject and open to any start date.

Hello all,
my vote goes for starting at june 1st as well, about summer hollydays, mine will be in August so, i think there is still time for one more project, Wink [;)]
All those that wish to participate please give your opinion tooSmile [:)]

Well, it's looking like the next CBP will be a figure, seeing as how we haven't had any negative feedback on the suggestion. I have no problem with including 'gundam wings' and other such stuff as well. I kind of get the feeling that I have fallen into the role of 'moderator' for this next project. As long as that's ok with everyone else I will continue. The bonus with that is that I can postpone the new project until I'm finished the current one.Tongue [:P]
I would suggest setting a tentative start date for the 'figure project' as maybe June 1st. Does that give everyone enough of a break from the last one or should we consider moving it back another month? What about summer holidays and stuff? Do we want to put a hold on it til say August or September? Let's have some suggestions from the rest of you. All I am is the blind man leading the "visually challenged".Cool [8D] (dark glasses...get it? Sorry, just had to do it)

Anyway, you guys talk amongst yourselves and I'll go back to working on my Ferrari.

I'd like to cast my vote for a 'figure' as the next CBP. I'd also like to suggest that the 'gundam wing' kits (and similar stuff) be considered a figure.

Officially the F-18C project is over but if you feel like building a jet, whtcutter, go for it. I think some of the people that were in on that one may still be working on their jets.Tongue [:P] If you do some searching through the forums there was a thread dedicated specifically to the F-18C project. We also have a dedicated thread for the Ferrari project now, too.
Do you have any suggestions as to some projects you'd like to see in the future? Feel free to post any suggestions you may have.

PRIVATE!!! Drop and give me 20!!

Just kidding! Tongue [:P]

We are actually in the middle of a CBP right now. Building a Ferrari. It's just nice to have an idea of what might be coming up, especially if someone hasn't built a certain subject before then they can be on the lookout for something that they might like to build. Also reading the "State of the hobby" thread a lot of people don't live next door to a hobby shop so they can't just run out and pick up a kit on a whim.

Are you in for the next one??Wink [;)] Do you have any preference?

Tongue [:P]
Just set a finish date and a model type for the CPB and go for it.
This isnt rocket surgery; so what if you never built a PT boat (for xample) before. A skilled builder can work with anything, and if looks like crap, you'll do better next time.
Quit sounding like a bunch of women-- get yer butts to a hobby shop and have fun.

over and out!

Good idea lito.sf. I was thinking myself that we should make a list of possible project subjects and then we could set up a temporary timeline and that would give us time to look for models and such. Here are a couple more subjects that we might consider:
Boat
Truck
Space (as opposed to Sci-Fi)
Motorbike (I've been dying to build a nice Tamiya kit - but I'd need some time to save up the dough. Tongue [:P])
We could probably split WWII armour into 2 or more different subjects

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. What else is out there that we could do. Let's get some more suggestions and then we can post a complete list and get a timeline going here.

Just looking at the other forums here. We could also add Helicopter as well.

project nº 4 - sci fi

Come on littlemoe, you shouldn't be so negative.Smile [:)]
There's probably a few factors coming into play right now. At this particular time of year there's probably a lot of spring fever going on so people are taking a little break. The second one was started a little early too, maybe. There were a few people that weren't even finished the first one, yet.
Anyway, as long as we're having fun, it doesn't really matter how many people are participating. We'll have to expect some fluctuation in the participation.

seems to me that the CBP is starting to fail.............. just a thought......

Well, no one else has really jumped in and dropped any suggestions. It doesn't really matter what subject we do next. We'll eventually get around to all of them, providing we keep this CBP going. I'm up for either one. But if you do a Star Trek figure or something like that wouldn't that make it a Sci-Fi project?Tongue [:P]Wink [;)] Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Anyway, so here's the suggestions so far:
1. figure
2. Sci-Fi

We've got some time yet so let's see if anyone has any more suggestions or what the preference is.

hi!!!!!!

How about a Sci-Fi project???????? I don't know about the figure though, I'm still not that great at painting, but if that is what we agree
on, then thats ok with me.......... perhaps we can invite some of the people that live in the FIGURES threat to come in and help us out???
Just a thoght!!!!!

I have posted pictures of my finished F-18. Again, the link to the page I did for the F-18 CBP is:

http://www.safeplace.net/darienk/cbp.html

Now I need to concentrate on the 1/72 Lagg fighter that a friend gave me. I guess I'll see where things are at for the Ferrari CBP when that time comes, unless it will be way too late for that.

lito,
head over to this link and you should find all that you need:
http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=583

As for next kit, I'd be into trying a figure. That would be a first for me. If everyone else agrees, I'd like to suggest that we allow the Gundam kits because I'm quite interested in building one of those.

Well, I'll throw this out for people to 'chew on'. How about a figure for the next one. It could be either vinyl or resin, and either a complete figure or just a bust. I really don't know anything about figures so maybe someone with a little more knowledge could fill in some of the blanks. Just one suggestion, lets see what else people think.

I know we just started the second CBP, but isnt'it time to think anout #3..? I suggested the Ferrari for #2, so I'm going to shut up on this one Cool [8D] and go along with the rest of you, but the earlier we know what to look for the easier it will be to start and the longer we have to 'recruit' new members.. Smile [:)]

Anyhow, how many of us are there in the CBP #2??? Shy [8)]

heylonghair,

You summarized things very well. I am in this first F-18 CBP, and only finished today! I posted some pictures that participants sent to me for the F-18 build, which if you wish you can see them at http://www.safeplace.net/darienk/cbp.html I took pictures of my finished project just today as a matter of fact. About the same time as starting in this CBP, a modeler friend, who cannot do much any more due to health issues, gave me a kit as a suprise gift, so I have worked on that also, and need to finish it next.

Hi littlemoe,

My understanding is, and I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, is that this thread is what started the whole CBP thing. When it started to develop a 'mind of its own', they separated the original project and then the Ferrari project into different threads so that the threads would hopefully stay a little smaller and thus more manageable. I don't know if everyone from this group will participate in the Ferrari project but the Ferrari project is not a completely separate group. This is what started everything. If you do a little digging through this thread it should hopefully start to make a little more sense. I'm sure some of the original members could explain it better but I hope that helps clarify things a little.
