Hi All, thanks for the comments, I am rather pleased with this one myself, I actually did have two more figures ready to go for this one, but couldn't really find a spot to put them, so I'll save them for another dio.
TMP - I like the barrell too, I kind of tried something different while painting it, I painted it a base coat of dark brown acryllics, and while still wet, I literally slapped on some light brown to gt some blending action goin on, then just a oil wash and some drybrushing.
Doog/Pam, That loft was just screaming for a focal point for a impromptu concert I did make a ladder for the loft, but it didn't look right where I put it, so I took the figure raising his cup and put him just behind the turret, to give a test to see if a body would be tall enough to reach the loft without the ladder and just hoist themselves up, and it looked like it would work so that's what I did!
J. Warnell, that is indeed a loaf of bread on top of the barrel, it's a loaf of dark rye bread, painted the same method as the barrel, although the pic doesn't do it justice. The loaf was made just from a little ball of self-hardening model clay, pressed down slightly, with three little slits cut in it. Attached is a shot of the front of the barn, and a few more..glad you all like it!
