Hi All, thanks for the comments, I am rather pleased with this one myself, I actually did have two more figures ready to go for this one, but couldn't really find a spot to put them, so I'll save them for another dio.

TMP - I like the barrell too, I kind of tried something different while painting it, I painted it a base coat of dark brown acryllics, and while still wet, I literally slapped on some light brown to gt some blending action goin on, then just a oil wash and some drybrushing.

Doog/Pam, That loft was just screaming for a focal point for a impromptu concert Smile [:)] I did make a ladder for the loft, but it didn't look right where I put it, so I took the figure raising his cup and put him just behind the turret, to give a test to see if a body would be tall enough to reach the loft without the ladder and just hoist themselves up, and it looked like it would work so that's what I did!

J. Warnell, that is indeed a loaf of bread on top of the barrel, it's a loaf of dark rye bread, painted the same method as the barrel, although the pic doesn't do it justice. The loaf was made just from a little ball of self-hardening model clay, pressed down slightly, with three little slits cut in it. Attached is a shot of the front of the barn, and a few more..glad you all like it!

Very nice dio. I also love the barrel with the box next to it. They are very real looking. What is the thing on top of the barrel that looks like it was made from a small stone? I would guess that it is a loaf of bread. If so, that was a very thoughtful addition to the scene. Maybe I'm way off base with it being bread, but either way, you would be great at making model railroad scenes. You should check out some of the craftsman type kits of structures offered by companies like sierra west and fine scale miniatures. Building craftsman structures is a whole new realm of modeling, and you don't have to have a model railroad to build them into dioramas. Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Great Job,

I just finished putting the same MiniArt German Shed together but no paint or decision on the dio yet. Good idea on the loft being reached by the tank. That avoids having to cut out that ladder that came with the kit! Were you able to use the samll entrance shed for anything not shown in the pictures?

I like it too. It's like a snapshot. I can totally figure out what is going on with no explanation. Really well done!

Regards,

Jeff

Hi Everyone, here is my latest dio, consisting of Dragon's T-34/85 w/bedspring armour. Also including Miniart's German shed kit, Dragon, Trumpeter and Tamyia figures as well. Wanted to depict this as the outskirts of Berlin, with some Russians doing a little pre-victory celebrating. The dead tree is a resin wargaming piece I picked up in Calgary a few years ago. Comments/Crits/Suggestions always welcome, enjoy!
