1/72 B-52D with Big Belly Mod, Operation Arc Light

I got most of those AGM-86C's from leftovers on ebay. Some are from the AMT kits and some are from the mono B-1b. All 1/72  I gots hounddogs a 3pound coffeecan full of 500 pounders and various and sudry other WMD

I think I get the AMT wing root thing, and glad I met someone whom saved me the work and disappointment of doing it myseff!

Yea this is all Doms fault....   The AMT kit looks evven worse if its hung from the ceiling. Looks like a big bird flappin its wings. But, that said, the AMT kits make for excellent boneyard pieces. Dom look in the group build for my CIA b-52 its an AMT kit modded by Lockheed Skunkworks, errr, I mean moi...

I really warped the wings on my BUFF.

That was the last time I used cyano-acrylate then found

out I was very allergic to it.

If anyone watches the B-52 on the bomb run in Dr. Stranglelove,

the wing tips are even with or over the spine of the BUFF.

So that's what I did with my Monogram kit, and Ire-enforced it with

aluminum.

After all that sawing of aluminum, every now and then I still cough up a few specks.

I don't know whether to build a specail box for my BUFF, or put her in a bag and

almost carry her home by hand.

Anyways Kong, your CIA BUFF is an inspiration.

Everytime it flys over head at night, it resonates with my skull plate trans-resignator.....

dang thing plays the theme song from Gilligan's island every time......

PS Kong,

as you know the Mono kit has a healthy anhedral, so I replicated the wing warp from Dr. Strangelove.

It gives the wings a nice curve from anhedral to dihedral starting at about the inside engines.

To your point, the BUFF was designed with the anhedral because they knew it would flex up, and that special wing has almost 30 feet of arc up and down so that's an almost 15 foot deflection in either direction at the tip.

But at the root, it's definitely designed anhedral, so I'll have to do a bit more sawing when I get to the AMT's. Errrr...you have a template handy

Will be spraying the clear topcoat tommorrow (today?) May give it a day to just set and  dry. Its as done as mine get ceptin fer the hound dog pylons with the HSABs and MERs and the 500 pounders. i gotta order 3 hasegawa weapons sets to fill the pylons alone. I aint going where Russ went... Im using GBU15s minus the smart parts. doesnt that make them MK82s??

anyways, looks painful at any scale.

The bracket detailing on the rails pretty much blows me into the weeds.

Nice work on the engines/carts!! Me blind 51 year old eyes would need lotsa help to do some of THAT work....

Will be emailing you a few pics of the D.S "G" this afternoon, no weapons or pylons yet but me LHS said I would have them by Friday....

Many thanks for the good words, bud!    Yea, the front wheels were attached to the frames by a vertical pivot bar and each wheel had a steering rod that attached to the tow bar. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the picture I posted previously. Below is a better angle. The hinge points were so small that I didn't try to make the wheels moveable. They are just glued right to the frames. At this scale, it hardly shows anyway.

I have a 1/48 Vac B-47 and she's a beauty.....

Actually, I'm in a state of denial (Florida). The big items are pretty much done except resurfacing my tarmac, which was made in layers of paper and buckled due to the humidity down here. Then I have to build a display cabinet. So, I need to do some wood work - and I hate wood work .

Maybe I'll tempt fate this weekend...

Thanks for the concern, Dom. I had considered the runway, but even in 1/72 scale, it still won't fit in my garage. It would be 125 ft. too long...
