Hey guys, the perv inside of me (24/m/WI) Big Smile [:D] is dying to know, where did you find those figures?  I know the bathtub set is from Verlinden.  They might make a great gag gift too for a friend of mine....

From my experience, I think it would be quite challenging to paint those beauties.  I can't even get a fully clothed male to look right!

Believe it or not, I believe that I found these at Squadron. I can't remember the manufacturer, unfortunately. They were originally supposed to be generic 1/35 nudes, but I dressed them up so they wouldn't be so.......nekkid....Whistling [:-^]Big Smile [:D]

In a way that's kind of a shame. I've built my share of figure models, and some of my faves are of the 100mm female variety. Much of that favoritism has to do with the fact that I have found them more challenging than any other figure models I've tried. Doing justice to the female physique in that scale was difficult to say the least.

What Jagdtiger?

Anyway, what I have learned the past couple of weeks is this: In order to get a lot of attention to a thread you can do one of two things:

1) Start posting pics of your dog...

2) Post a pic of a 35th scale girl...

...maybe posting a pic of a girl holding a dog will get even more attention !!!

PS: how about some feedabck on my WIP dio in this Forum??? What do I need to do, add a chick fig to get you guys to look at it? LOL...

Keep adding fuel to the flames, it seems like the "red-blooded American male" thing to do.

Sorry I don't view women the same as you guys.

I think some contributors of this thread are victims of the pussification of society. Suddenly it has become a freakin' crime to enjoy the sight of a scantily clad (or nude) woman. So freakin what if Manny likes to model women? Who are you guys to attack him for being a red-blooded American male? You don't like it? Dont look!

I could really go off on a tangent here on how modern males have lost a large part of their masculinity for the sake of not "offending" someone, But I wont...

.........LMAO TOO! Definitely better than the morning paper! (sorry...wiping tears)

What a perfect microcosm of this site!

Manny....who painstakingly posts pics....answers queries....gives advice and hints freely....sometimes bows to advice from others.....posts a very cool, imaginative and accurate dio......and this exchange results.

Fabulous reading.......getting pretty dramatic! Then The Doog posts his dio......and says "Take this!"

 Toooooooo much! I love it!

Manny....next time have the woman in the tub.....no suds.....being tended by other women, the man having a beer while leaning and leering at the back of a tank. With, perhaps a clergyman overseeing things from a distance.

My only concern is if Manny carved that woman from resin or something. That would be sick!

.........um.....and why do most outdoor dios lack sharply defined shadows caused by the sun....I know it's a lighting thing....but I'm no expert.

I'm going back in time to look at some more of Manny and Doog's dios

How ironic is that!...a 17 year old acting more mature than the "older" folks...I can only hope that my oldest son has the same view of woman that you do D-B, you should be proud of yourself for standing up for what you believe in...now...don't back down!

D-B life is full of crossroads, and you won't always take the right road, but as long as you stay true to your beliefs you'll stay on the right path!

I think things have straightened out now though and Im glad we could come to a civil agreement instead of storming off and slamming the door.

Oh and Doog, I dunno if Im the only one who thinks it but maybe its a little uncalled for at a time like this. But hey nice job on the skin tones and shading, I can hardly get the colours right on a 1/72 fig but you got the whole body so props to you.

And ya Im pretty young and still learning. 17 going on 18 soon.

Brad, just trying to take the heat off Manny--I'm not trying to "rub salt in the wound"--just wanted to say hey, I like my women too, and a little femininity in a male-dominated forum is not a bad thing! I hope you won't take it the wrong way!Wink [;)]

I have to admit to being a bit surprised--at 17-18 I couldn't get enough of half-dressed women! Hell, I still can't!

However, I completely see your point about your feeling that the inclusion of a sexual element is, in your view, a "cheap" way to get a lot of posts. I don't think that's Manny's intentions here at all. I just wanted to show that a LOT of guys have "nekkid chicks" in their collections, even me. To me it's not a big deal.

I will say that this is not one of your best, Manny--the vehicles themselves are really well done, but knowing your previous admitted habit of sometimes "throwing together" sometimes separate elements into a hasty dio, I wonder if this one may have a bit of that in it? It just doesn't seem as well thought out or executed as we've come to expect from you--but I would never argue your right to model it nor my and other's right to view and comment on it. After all, it's just a woman, in all her natural glory and beauty. Ain't nothin' in this world as beautiful to me.

BTW, these are 1/35--that's the old Tamiya Jagdtiger....

Thanks a lot M1 and especially Toe Tanker. I get what your saying, and I wasn't really being very clear either and I admit I contradicted myself a bit. I knew what I meant but didn't exactly know how to say it. I dont mean to enforce anything on the forums. I just wanted to speak out once about this, since I've observed it a few times and just went on my way (like I should have here). Its my fault for stirring up trouble. And Im sorry to Manny if I insulted your work, even if you don't care about my opinion.

Im glad lots of you guys are understanding and patient, especially around a stressful time of year. As someone mentioned something about it earlier, how we act like this a week after Christmas. Well we should remember that just like not everyone enjoys Manny's work Christmas isn't exactly a super cheery, happy time for some people

Look, I am gonna take the high road here...I hope you don't leave...It is nothing personal ya know...we all have our bad days, and I do want everyone's opinion on my work...I guess what I don't want is judgement of content. If you don't care for dios/work w/ females in them I would suggest you leave that post w/o replying and move on---and I mean that in a good way, not a smart a@@ way...

I mean I don't like the subject matter of a lot of posts but I am not gonna try to get in someone's head as to their motives and criticize them because of different values I may have...the Forum, IMO, is to critique technique, not taste...

No hard feelings and I'm sorry if I was over the line in my replies...

I think demographics might come into this arguement.  From what I know, Deputy Brad is a younger guy, teenager I believe.  Older guys are generally less exposed to, and less interested in, political correctness. Thats life.  The term, "dirty old soldier" has been used here already, and probably applies to more than a few of us.  Personally, the day I diss one of Manny's builds will be the day I can out-build him- LOL.  A few people here could use the same reasoning I reckon.

DB

I'm glad to see your last post and at least I understand that every day is not always a good day (I'm the one with the xmas statement). The holidays can be fun but can be a Censored [censored].

Hopefully you are better and I hope Manny is better. We all need to remember sometimes we are here for fun!!!Banged Head [banghead]

I understand your frustration in posting. It has happened to me where I only get one or two responses. I just chaulk it up to a bad day in cyber space. If I am happy, thats all that counts.

I still feel there is no difference between this forum and a bar with lots of conversations and many thoughts. The only drawback is there is no cold beer!!!Sign - Dots [#dots]

Deputy Brad,

No one wants to see you leaving the forum.  Why does it bother you so much that some people's work only gets few comments?  I had things posted and only received a few comments at best, but my intention was never to show off my work or trying to generate how many replies I get on my work.   But we don't do our modeling for that.  We do it for our own satisfaction.  You have a talent and I wish I had half of your skills.

You've mention something about Model Maniac.  I used to leave positive (TUK, A.I. and Joh for the most part did good work) but also left some feedbacks as to what could be done to make good dioramas to excellent dioramas.  His attitude towards to it was just "take it or leave it" and didn't take contructive criticism too well.  That's when I felt that he doesn't want to hear any thing but "Hey great work", so I stop bothering leaving any comments on his postings.

On-line forum is just like any society.  You'll run into people who'll disagree with you and you'll meet people you learn to like.
