Thanks alot everyone.  Reasoned, we are not the same person.  The name does sound familiar though, an old member I take it?  I didn't realize the figures would be so well received.  Perhaps I'll start doing more dioramas.   I'm contemplating the Pro Modeller JU-88 A-4 next.  Its one in my stash I've always wanted to try.  I'll see if I can scrounge up a Luftwaffe bomber crew somewhere.

Indeed, he was known to crank out one fantastic build after another (especially during the winter), should do a search on some of his work, impressive.  

I for one would love to see you build the Ju-88, great a/c and have heard the PM version is a good one.

I do believe this is some of the best work I've ever seen.Well done.

Hey Joe.  I've noticed how in many of your dioramas The plane you have makes tracks in the ground in one direction only and then comes to a stop.  Have you ever considered allowing it to look as though it were backed in to an area off some runway.  Does that create too much clutter for such a small area, or do you think it helps serve to break up the space in an interesting way?

Thanks everyone.  I guess I will try to figure out how to submit it to the publishers.  I'm not sure how but there is a first for everything..........lol.  Bvallot,  I try to represent the plane rolling to a stop on dirt, which was common on makeshift WW2 airfields.  Like a moment frozen in time.  It also provided some "grooves" for the plane to sit in....a security measure if you will.  I've tried in the past making many overlapping  tracks but you assumed correctly, it looks too cluttered for such a small area.  I like the backing idea.  Perhaps I'll employ the left over Moto tug on a futrure build.

Joe, great looking build and dio! The scheme brings some much needed color to a normally RLM dominated ac forum and the figures look superb!!

I'm late to this party, but I am blown away. Very nice work!! A couple comments:

Your cockpit is unreal. I have always enjoyed painting cockpits as I felt it was my strongest area. After seeing yours I might as well throw in the towel!

The engine on these Tamiya kits are my favorite. I've wired up a couple engines myself. I now have a new technique to try. Usually I just tuck the wires behind the case and call it good enough. Now, I need to add the plugs that you put on. Beautiful.

On the kit  I did with the wings down, I glued the outer wings on before the upper and lower halves. This allowed me to get rid of any unsightly seams pretty easily.

I used True Details wheels on mine as well. I sanded some of the sidewall down as I thought the tires looked a little too "flat". I use Floquil Dirty black for my tires... We are on the same page on tire color!

Your work with Tamiya paints is exquisite. I use the Tamiya acrylic thinner when I brush but I still can't get results like you do.

To sum it up, this is an amazing build, and an amazing tribute to a man who was a great leader, even through all his personal problems. Can't wait to see more builds from you!
