very cool. I'll be watching your build. I finished my 1:72 Shinden last week and just purchased the 1:48 version.

Nice archive pics...can't wait to see your work.  Did any of these ever see combat?

Only two Shindens were made, one had a total flight time of about 45 minutes but the war ended days after the flight so it was not able to see combat. Had the war gone on longer, this aircraft would have been a vital asset to the IJN.

Ok so here is my current progress on the build. Cockpit is complete with the use of detailer and a little florys wash on the darker parts.

Picture above is before, picture below is after weathering:

After reading others build of this kit, many people were saying that they were having fit issues. A solution I have found is (looking at the picture) to glue the two pieces together shown with "A", it provides a better fit with proper alignment. Looking at "B" do not glue in that top section until AFTER part "A" is glued in place, then after its cured you can then glue that top piece into place and not have a gap issues. Note that I have not yet installed the engine at this point, it is better to deviate from the instructions to make sure you have proper alignment of the parts prior to installing the engine assembly. Part "A" is not glued in place at the momment and is in a dry fitting stage. This will be taken back off to install the engine first. But this is a safe way to know that your parts are squared before you drive your self nuts. Use this guide if you are going to have this kit closed up.

Man there aint nothin' wrong with that bubba! Looking good! I've been wanting to get my hands on a ZM kit for a while now. There's been a hint of talk about a release of an Fw190 A somewhere down the road. Hopefully that becomes more than talk. Back to the kit at hand though, great detail and paint work Kevin!!

Looks sweet Luft.  So how did you like the detailer wash?

Joe, the Detailer wash is some sa-weet stuff.

I notice it works different from florys wash ( both Detailer and Florys dark dirt are a must have!), its hard to explain to those who havent used it but Joe I bet you know what I mean. Certain thing Florys works best on but not for everything, the Detailer is a no fuss wash. A little goes a looooooong way and in my opinion "sticks" better to the detail you want hi-lighted.

Lookin' good, Luft! Does the kit have options for different versions, like the jet-powered one?
