DSCF1476 I masked off the patterns with Tamiya tape, and applied some RLM 70. It came out pretty good!

DSCF1480 The decals are on! They didn't give me much of a fight, however they were still kinda tricky. As I type this they're still a little rippled, I think the 20+ year old adhesive was on it's last legs. In fact, I got several big gobs of it on my Heinkel during the whole process! I will put a bit more decal solution on them and take a small pin to whatever bubbles or ripples there are. All in all, they didn't rip or tear, and they look pretty good!

Those decals? Completely laid flat on the surface of the plane overnight! They look fantastic. I sealed them with a clear coat the other day, and tonight I weathered my Heinkel! Here's a few shots: DSCF1481 DSCF1483 I went a bit heavy on the rust colored paint, seeing how this thing would have been landing on a salty ocean most of the time.

haha I hear ya, Jay Jay! I've always been a big seaplane fan, and I hope you have a good time at that IPMS show! My He 115 is ALL complete and ready for action! Hope you guys dig the photos, I'm afraid it looks a bit out of place....a kitchen counter is no place for a seaplane...but as soon as I'm all set working on another project, I'll be working on a diorama for my Heinkel. Thanks to everyone who offered me positive words of encouragement! This was a fun build, and I HIGHLY recommend this kit to anyone. The clear parts required quite a bit of masking, and I think that was honestly the toughest part. So if you end up buying this kit, make sure you spend the money and buy that Eduard die cut masking kit for this plane, you'll be glad you did! You might have to fiddle with the masking kit however, since it is for the "Revell" He-115, not the "Matchbox" one....but the clear parts for the matchbox kit are 99.9% identical to the Revell ones, so you should have very little difficulty! That's looking nice. Those decals certainly improved after being left. I need to get one of these as well.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
