You're definitely right, USMC! This is probably the easiest kit I've ever put together. Everything is fitting in place perfectly. The fuselage is all set! DSCF1434

Hey you could do a lot worse than an old Matchbox kit.

Nice choice, will keep an eye on this. I have been thinking about getting the Revell boxing of this. So will be interested to see how it builds.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

DSCF1428 Engines and props painted. I dry brushed a little Testors aluminum onto the cylinder heads. The props were painted with RLM 70 schwarzgrun.

DSCF1424 Cockpit floor and interior walls are painted, and so are the crew. I ended up using RLM 66 schwarzgrau for the walls and floor. I haven't been able to find a source regarding the interior color of the He-115- so I just winged it.

DSCF1418 Well here's a shot of what I'll be working with. You'll have to excuse some of the clutter- I've been in the process of moving and things are still where they shouldn't be. I ended up buying an Eduard mask for this kit because let's face it... pre-cut masks just make things a little easier!

I just can't keep myself away from the bench recently...and hey, that's not a bad thing! I dug a kit out of my stash that I've had for a while. It's the old Matchbox Heinkel 115 kit. I bought this from an antique store that has a nice selection of old model kits. The copyright date on the box is 1989, I was only three when this kit was originally sold on shelves! I can't help but wonder how long the kit in my possession had been on that antique store shelf before I bought it- and where it had been before that! Maybe I can't figure out it's past, but I know what it'll become in the future! I am not going to go overboard (excuse the pun) with the interior detail on this one...it was a very basic kit in it's day, and I think part of what's gonna make this build so cool is keeping it basic!
